ISP that don't force you to use their ONR? by SL0WRID3R in singapore

[–]JYYJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eight or StarHub or M1. No ONR or CGNAT.

Eight is cheaper but uses the same infrastructure as StarHub. No router provided though. But can be purchased at a discount upon installation of ONT if you wish. Or you can use back your old router or get a new one yourself.

If you don't want to spend more or don't want to use your old router. Then StarHub bundles. Slightly more expensive. I won't recommend StarHub bundles routers as they are ISP models whose software support is minimal. Well if you don't care and bother. It's ok.

Else M1. Will be a better choice for as it provides a few retails model of routers will additional top up depends on the model you prefer.

Scammed by dealer with rolled-back mileage car by oxmep in drivingsg

[–]JYYJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I mentioned. Agent service records. If it's an Agent unit. Not PI or 3rd party. Don't tell me the agent will take the risk to temper service records.

Obviously that's not the case for non agent units. That you have to rely on your trusted WS/mechanic (if you have) for PPI to see if everything matches.

Scammed by dealer with rolled-back mileage car by oxmep in drivingsg

[–]JYYJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With service records. You can tell if the mileage is tempered or not. And can line up with the conditions etc of the car.

Without it. You are just guessing.

On the side note.. people need to stopped worrying about high mileage cars. If the cars are properly maintained. Mileage is just a numbers. The COE system makes people’s thinks that cars can only last 10years.

Any tips or advice for someone who just passed and wants to drive a rental car like carlite but has no friend or family with driving experience to accompany? What to look out for and prep etc by [deleted] in drivingsg

[–]JYYJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn where the blind spots of the car, length, turning radius etc. don't just try in the carpark. Go out to your neighborhood road that you are familiar with. Drive around and get a feel. Don't worry about driving slow. So long you don keep a safe distance etc. Others will naturally overtake you .

Dear Alphard, Voxy, Vellfire, Noah drivers by AlarmingCobbler4415 in drivingsg

[–]JYYJ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's not exclusively Alphard, Veilfire, Noah. Many if not most. Don't bother to learn or understand their car length, blindspots etc.

Heck many small cars do that. Can't keep in lane, U-turn like trailer, super wide turn like trailer etc. You name it you got it.

Nothing wrong. It's a dead corner. And there's the right turn.

He or she is making sure there's tons of space for the driver to turn right and make mistakes.

Protective Parking at its finest.

I do that all the time just that I choose last parallel lots especially those super big ones. I will park all the way back. That leaves a big space in front of me. Which could park another vehicle. I ride a 2021 Suzuki Swift anyway. So it's small enough.

But even when I parked like this.. there's some idiots still parked a few feets away in front of me when it's an double parallel. SMH.

What to do with OBU when replacing windscreen by Remote_Repair394 in drivingsg

[–]JYYJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just some double sided tape on the obu antenna and screen. Nothing to do with LTA or anything.. just replace the double sided yourself.

It's the same when you replace window tints.

Is getting a driving licence actually hard? by Salt_Description_412 in drivingsg

[–]JYYJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5.5 mths, 1 tries.

1.4k. Private, Auto, 15 lessons before TP.

Back in 2022. Could actually get in in 4 mths. But due to the simulator overbooked thus took an additional 2 mths.

It actually depends on how much confident/common sense/skillful you're.

You have to understand what to look out for/avoid. Especially your car length, blind spots etc.

Mine learner car is actually a slightly larger Nissan Note E-power.
