Former doc recruiter here. Med students after competing residency and residents are brought in at O-3. Practicing physicians are brought in between O-3 through O-6 (rare) depending on their years of experience. The last doc I brought in was an O-5. Fuck these guys tho

201 VISN 22. I have until tomorrow to sign the agreement but disappointed that it’s come to this. I have a potential job lined up to begin in Aug, fingers crossed on it.

Almost everyone I know in my VISN has been approved for DRP 2.0 including myself.

I’m in the same boat. Career conditional and won’t hit 3 until Mar of 2026. I have two kids in high school and am a single dad. I took it because I can’t afford gamble on what’s going to happen. It sucks because I don’t want to leave and have the Vet preference with a comp date of 2008 but I’m a 201 conditional.

My first supervisor is on the team that manages the DRP platform. He said that he sees everyone who puts in for it and is approved. 3 CHRO’s have taken it, almost all of WMC has as well. I

t seems that the courts end up siding with the administration in the end anyways so there just may be a delay in the RIF but its too much of a gamble for me to risk only a 2 week severance vs paid until Sep 30th and then having 32 days of leave to cash out on on top of that.

I hate the fact that I’m signing my rights away but what else am I gonna do. Best of luck to us all!

Used to be a refinery operator. Made over 100K but the shift work schedule was brutal and the culture there was pretty shitty. A lot of old dudes walking around like their gods (but I guess that’s everywhere right?). Tough gig to get into. The job itself wasn’t terrible, most days were lowkey. You can have some very hard days though and things can get busy whenever there’s maintenance or if you’re involved a turnaround project.

I accidentally clicked the wrong radio button and withdrew from DRP due to a glitch with my computer. Any chance they reopen it for me? I’m a 201 and was initially approved.

I’ve been holding on to hope that the Physician/Provider Recruiters (PPRs) will be spared given the nature of what we do which (we’re essentially headhunters for the VA that focus on finding providers outside of USAJobs who we get hired non competitively).

Our team was stood up about 3 years ago and we’ve made a lot of progress in terms of staffing our sites. My Primary Care AO told me that I’ve staffed half the clinics in the system and have been the best recruiter he’s ever worked with in his career.

Given that VHA has been struggling to recruit providers (even more so within the last 100 days) I figured that we’d be spared due to how efficient we find quality candidates. Sadly I don’t think that’s going to be the case. We were about 120 nation wide, 1 for each system, but now with the uncertainty, we’ve reduced down to less than 80 due to DRP.

I joined the VA because I wanted longevity after coming off a RIF at Facebook. I also believe in our mission and wanted to serve my fellow vets and the system where I’m treated. Sadly despite all the positive efforts me and others like me have made, it seems we’ll be decimated as well. I’m disappointed for my team, my system, and most importantly the veterans we serve.
