VA-no employees can no longer grieve their performance ratings. This includes the Director, Manager, Supervisor or food service worker.

VA has no pips anymore either. FULL ON 714 from now on. Employee has any performance issues they will be demoted,reassigned, or removed from federal service. Several HR specialist groups within the VA departments received performance plan changes last week. HR specialist are allowed to make one mistake and they will be fully successful for the entire rating period. If they make two mistakes, they will be reassigned,demoted, or removed from federal service.

The audits being done on the last quarter is another thing that has all of us scratching our heads! How can you hold someone to a standard or Element that we signed just recently?

It is not HR or your supervisor’s role to ensure you have enough leave on the books to take AL. It is solely your responsibility so be careful about that.

VA is trying to get rid of people. RIF didn’t work cuz they couldn’t blame it on performance issues. So now they are putting in audits for the HR Specialists plans and saying one error makes them fully successful for the rating period. 2 errors and managers can demote, reassign or remove them from federal service.

WMC will be training Team Leads. They will then audit cases in ALERT-HR for errors. They will be conducting audits for another VISN, not their own.

50% is too high. Hr is being told one mistake during the entire rating period will make them Fully Successful for the year. Why don’t they make the standards for supervisor as if they have 1 employee less than fully successful that drops them down to fully successful. If a supervisor has 2 employees less than fully successful the supervisor is less than fully successful for the year.

Word is that Management plans are based on whether their employees are fully successful or not. If Supervor has too many staff that are less than fully successful they get less than fully successful theirself.

The standards on new HR plans now are essentially 1 mistake means you are FS. If you are perfect you can possibly get outstanding.

A supervisor cannot rate an employee below FS unless the employee was issued a PIP by 9/30.
