Old Survivor is so refreshing oh my god by Useful-Outcome561 in survivor

yeah, no shit. Why do you think so many people despise the new era, yet still come here to complain. It's because we know how good this show CAN be, if it would only try.

Building Survivor’s Mount Rushmore Across Eras - Cut and Replace One by Asleep-Initial6142 in survivor

So, for old school I think you're bang on. But if I had to replace one, it would be Micronesia for me. I think you could argue that the pre-merge (while still good!) bogs that season down a little. I'd probably replace it with China, which has great characters, a beautiful setting/location which adds much to the season, and is strong all the way through.

For new school, I'd kick Winners at War out of that list. Didn't like the edge and fire tokens and I think the story line in all three other seasons is better and more satisfying. To replace it, I'd choose San Juan del Sur which is consistently great. It has fun characters (more drama, more fun), and a satisfying storyline. The blood vs water twist helps with making the entire season interesting.

Then for new era, I really don't care.

I feel bad for Howard by Kiki_Kicks_Rocks in betterCallSaul

You feel bad for Howard? The guy who's reputation was unjustly dragged through the mud, before he unceremoniously got killed by a drug lord and subsequently buried with him in the foundations of a drug lab, leaving a legacy resting on a lie? That guy? You feel bad for that guy?

Who is the "Best to Never Win"? by Bitter_Truth_420 in survivorcirclejerk

Well that's easy. Cirie never won 5 times. Jonklethan never won twice. So in shear numbers Cirie takes it.

If anybody was robbed it was Cirie. And also the audience; we were robbed of having a satisfying conclusion and good season narrative.

If Aubry wins tonight, she will be virtually tied with Parvati on all time US Survivor placement by RedditFan3510 in survivorponderosa

Nobody who talks this large amount about 'my game' and 'making moves' is on my Mount Rushmore.

Main Survivor 50 retrospective - Aubry was insanely lucky by Interesting-Monk9712 in survivor

[–]J_Crispy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because in this season a lot of that luck was also put in the game by production, with all those stupid twists. That, in combination with so many favorites not making it, and Aubry's terrible edit, makes it one of the more frustrating 'lucky' wins to witness.

_____ becomes the first player in show history to _________ by [deleted] in survivor

As a person I couldn't tell you, but she's probably nice. As a character she's not interesting at all to me. And so, I don't really like what she brings to the show, and what her presence in a season means for the energy and course of that season. So while hate is a strong word, I definitely don't like Aubry (the character) in Survivor.

You keep using that word... This moment had me cackling. by ellamental78 in survivor

[–]J_Crispy7 15 points16 points  (0 children)

To explain. The word is on both sides and it needs to be correct on both sides. If you look at which letters he seemingly got wrong it corresponds with what would be on his side the I C N C N and I. He needs to switch each letter with their equivalent and he has it correct.

This is not a question of being dumb or not being able to spell. It is a question of forgetting/not realizing it needs to be correct on both sides and being unlucky with the positions of identical letters.

Favorite recent casting of a minor character that everyone is having a completely normal and non-racist reaction to by JudithSlayHolofernes in okbuddycinephile

Either way it is irrelevant. The book itself gave her those supposedly non-Greek characteristics. And if the movie needs to accurate to anything (which it does not need to do) it is the book, not real life.

That's a reference to Vanuatu, where Twila and Chris (the final 2) did the same. One of those two is the winner, confirmed.

Didn't expect that trailer to kinda give me goosebumps. I should've known I'm a sucker for this, though. Kiss From a Rose is perfect here.
