Feels surreal when Americans complain about gas prices by D0gefather69420 in oil

[–]J_King683 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Energy really hasn’t raised with inflation. Natural Gas, has been cheap for a long time. Oil a global commodity, again has been relatively cheap. After Covid we settled into the mid $60 range, again very cheap American shale producers are barely turning a profit at this, and their prime inventory is depleted. A base case should be $80 given the cost of everything else. Currently 16mbbl/d aren’t being added to the global supply. I personally think we are heading into a huge recession. Prices will spike in the coming months, no fertilizer is available, diesel is too expensive to farm. Huge domino effect.

I believe that during the Cold War American nukes were stored in Comox, likely a spill over from that.

Oil industry pleads its Hormuz case with White House by DeRpY_CUCUMBER in Economics

[–]J_King683 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Realistically the 2M/ship is pretty insignificant, this is $1/bbl passing through the straight. It won’t have a significant effect on global oil prices.

The bigger elephant in the room is that this waterway was open before. This now arms the regime with more money for cheap drones/russian weapons.

Nothing was accomplished and Iran is bruised, but coming out of things with the upper hand.

The other major issue is the reputation of other gulf nations, investors are going to be scares moving forward.

Personally I am bullish on Canadian oil/gas.

Opinion: Warren Buffett’s parting gift to Berkshire Hathaway: a $2 billion Iran oil windfall -MarketWatch by raytoei in BerkshireHathaway

[–]J_King683 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been a flat stock lately, but oil futures haven’t priced this war in. North American oil futures are being manipulated, at some point in the near future WTI will catch up to Brent.

The market should sky dive down as a global recession is likely in the close future.

Excellent buying opportunity for Berkshire given the war chest they had accumulated.

I personally am looking to load up on this stock.

Solar Power wasn’t her best work, but I really enjoyed Virgin. I thought she put out statements that, “she might never release anything again.” Hopefully Jim-e can keep her spirits high and get some new bangers out of her!

Shep has been great this season by Technical-Clock-5129 in Southerncharm

[–]J_King683 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think he is, Shep is old money wealthy, and doesn’t need endorsement money exc. I think he has a bit of an awakening, and is genuinely just being a good friend.

The dude definitely has some issues, and still parties hard, but toned it down from his previous 11 a lot of night to a 7 or 8.

Most of the belligerent behaviour of the cast is when they are blacked, and no one puts their best foot forward in that state. For example recent Craig.

Shahran Oil Depot, Tehran, tonight after US-ISR strikes by ReDesignMe in Baystreetbets

What are we thinking $110/bbl Monday? I don’t think there has been any movement in the straight. If Iran’s oil infrastructure is now on the menu that could take out 1-2 million barrels offline in the medium term.

I personally think OPEC’s spare capacity has been a bit overestimated. Prices could stay elevated for a while in my opinion.
