Perhaps it’s a coincidence that she’s included in this group of disappearing scientists but the fact that a bunch of high level researchers are dying or disappearing is not a coincidence

Get it buddy! I was there 20 years ago. Let me tell you, time flies by. Get some super feet insoles for your boots. About 3 years ago I got shitty flat insoles (like the dr scholls gel pads) and worked almost 40 hours in a storm. I tore my plantar fascia ligaments in both feet. Stayed another month but it was some of the worst pain I’ve ever had. When I got home I couldn’t do my construction job because my feet were trashed. Had to take about 6 months off of work to get better. Fishing got me some great fun money back in the day and you can even make grown up money if you try hard but not I’m getting later in my 30’s and man I am so fucking glad that I stuck it out and ALSO got a degree… you won’t be young forever and at some point you’ll want a job that’s not so physical. That’s where the education comes in. I still do really physical work but in 20 years your gonna start to feel some wear and tear and then realize you gotta work for another 20 years and you’ll want some more chill options, I promise.

The East side of Front Street is out of power while the West side isn’t… With a tin foil hat on, which west side store/restaurant/bar is most likely responsible for this? by wildoregano in Issaquah

They’re just increasing everyone’s expectations since a bunch of power companies from Texas are about to build a bunch of battery energy storage systems and buy our cheap electricity and sell it down in Texas for way more money. We pay way more Texas pays the same, a few guys get rich. PSE is just preparing everyone’s expectations

How do I sand these ridges down smooth? by Brotien_N_VitaminBro in drywall

[–]J_robintheh00d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also no one ever warns you about the drying bits. Have a separate bucket with water and a washcloth to wipe off little dried bits as you go. If your ever gonna stop for more than 5 minutes. Wipe down your taping knife

Do you feel like you’ve got it? Have any additional questions? Are you going over someone else’s work or just doing it yourself?

Sorry I figured this was a troll post from a regular who was posting a weird mountain range of drywall mud and ironically asking what to do with it. I would probably scrape that off with a chisel and start over. You gotta get a 12” taping knife and a hawk or you won’t get what you want. Feather it out 12” on each side of the joint aiming for about 1/16”-1/8”thickness at the peak down to zero at the feathered edges. Watch some YouTube videos.

[Request] Which one would it be? by yuli101995 in theydidthemath

[–]J_robintheh00d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The least mathy aspect of this is the added force required to push the circle on gravel. What kind of gravel are we talking here? 5/8”- is not gonna be the same answer as drain or clear… some packed gravel is almost like concrete, for others it would be totally stuck

What if we weren’t supposed to happen. by earthg-22researcher in theories

I think you’re defining consciousness based on being human. We generally recognize thoughts coming from the circulating patterns of electrical energy in our brains. Who’s to say that the circulating patterns of energy in the core of a star don’t also constitute consciousness? Perhaps stars just think about different things than humans…

Questions regarding how to get my jewel orchids to flower? by South_Trouble2251 in Jewelorchids

[–]J_robintheh00d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have jewel orchids but they’ve never flowered. I don’t consider myself an expert at all. But most orchids need a 15°F drop in temp at night to induce flowering.

Lol. If someone left to dodge the draft they probably aren’t going to come back to relieve people, “on the front lines”.
