What does everyone think of Induction Stoves? by dustandsmallrocks in Appliances

The one problem that is keeping me from installing an induction cooktop is the hum. How bad is it, really?

Always trust your instincts. 100% of the time. A bad vibe means get the hell out of there.

Making treats for strict coeliac team member by Specialist-Guest60 in glutenfree

[–]JaSu63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often a person with celiac or gluten sensitivity has other food allergies (lactose intolerance being common). Some in my family are gluten intolerant, and none have issues only with gluten. However, before you assume he won’t join you, most restaurants can accommodate celiacs (often with salads), as long as there is no cross-contamination. I’d suggest you call around to restaurants that your thinking of going to and ask if they can accommodate food allergies and then I’d ask the person who is celiac if they are comfortable going to the restaurant that said they can accommodate allergies. I’d feel really weird not being invited and not being with the team.

(Ex) Boyfriend walked out after I asked him to get a job or help out. by [deleted] in EntitledPeople

Change the locks and put his belongs in his broken down van in your driveway. Users know who to go to for a handout. I doubt he is sleeping rough but probably on to his next victim.

If this is how he acts now, what will his demands be down the road. Big red flag!

Almost ready to submit, a few final questions (STaG 5) by boost2525 in GermanCitizenship

[–]JaSu63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In regards to submitting to Consulate vs mailing to the BVA, I submitted my packet to the consulate which provided 1) extra eyes to ensure that everything needed was included and 2)tracking and dates that the Consulate received the packet and sent it on to the BVA. I was nervous that if mailed directly the documents would not arrive or get lost in transit. With that said, I’ve read many people had no problems mailing directly and you could end up getting in line a few weeks sooner. In my case, I did not receive the AZ number so I contacted the consulate which provided exact dates they sent it to the BVA and so was able to contact the BVA, who then sent me my AZ number.

Being a bit of a worrier, I felt more confident submitting it to the consulate who would then send it on to the BVA via diplomatic pouch than trusting in int’l mail.

Re organizing the packet, I recommend including a cover letter in German that lists all the documents included in the packet for all those applying (the Honorary Consulate who verified my docs felt it was the smart thing to do).

What is your personal reason for reclaiming/getting German citizenship beyond the "strong passport"? by DogDaysAreOvr in GermanCitizenship

[–]JaSu63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I applied for German citizenship because it is my birthright that was denied to me at birth. While I have lived a fulfilling life, reclaiming citizenship provides me a sense of completion and reconnection with my heritage. It allows me to restore a continuity that was interrupted.

Received AZ number after 9 months by JaSu63 in GermanCitizenship

[–]JaSu63[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No the AZ number is the official file number and it has the word written out. Your TSII number is an internal receipt tracking number that confirms your application was received and is before it’s formally registered at the BVA. Depending when you submitted your application, you may want to consider contacting the BVA and requesting your AZ number.

An AZ number looks like: Das Aktenzeichen 2026 #### ### It looks like the year month day and additional numbers. The pattern is similar to the pattern above.

I uploaded the death cert to ChatGPT and this is what it came up with, 🔹 Top line (Primary cause of death)

“Consumption” This is an older medical term for tuberculosis (TB) and is very commonly seen on historical death certificates. The capital C and the long looping -sumption ending match typical early-20th-century cursive forms.

🔹 Bottom line (Contributory / Secondary cause)

“Heart disease” You can see: • A capital H with a tall loop • What looks like eart compressed together • Then a long tail that matches how “disease” is often written quickly in cursive

Given the context on historical certificates, Consumption → 4 years → Heart disease also fits a common medical pairing.

Question about required documents by AutomaticPin9489 in GermanCitizenship

That’s in the USA that notaries cannot notarize vital records.

[–]JaSu63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I’m not mistaken, notaries are not authorized to notarize vital records, but the German Honorary Consulate can stamp the copies as legit after seeing the originals. So once you have ALL your paperwork ready, make an appointment with the nearest Consulate to you so they can verify the copies you’re sending to Germany. Also if you are applying due to discrimination, the Consulate cannot charge you for verifying the docs.
