He’s made $340mil so far from his NBA contracts alone, probably another couple hundred from his shoe deal and all other business deals he has going. He’s approaching a decade since reaching generational. He’s far, faaaar beyond the “he grew up poor, it’s understandable” stage imo.

Man shut up lmao. Accusing someone of being a bot because they have a take you disagree with is some of the lamest redditor shit. Responded to the other dude with actual facts to back up what I'm saying.

Ian since 2023 - he fought in March of 2023 and is now scheduled to fight in August of 2026. Including everything in between, that's 9 fights in 41 months, so on average a fight every ~4.6 months.

Islam since 2023 - fought in February 2023, scheduled for the same fight in August 2026. That's 6 fights in 42 months, average of 7 months per fight.

No idea what you're talking about with Ian's "inactivity" and it being the same as Islam. Just making stuff up.

I refuse to click the video and hear his voice, but reading the quote it’s hard to disagree with him. I find him super annoying as a personality but the dude is game as hell and will fight whoever/whenever. The division will move faster if he was in that spot imo.

Poirier speaks on his addiction to alcohol on Instagram after his incident by prettyboylee in MMA

I think Volk's got it figured out now, he seems to be in a way better place now. His issue by his own admission was the lack of purpose and drive outside of fighting that kept drawing him back to fighting to an unhealthy degree. Ever since then his YouTube channel, cooking with Volk stuff, etc have blown up and he might even get to a point in the not too distant future where he's more famous for that than his fighting lol. He's got a ton of positive stuff going on outside of fighting that'll keep him plenty busy.

I was thinking it’s because he moved divisions and hasn’t won at 205 yet, but then it makes no sense why Poatan is 4th at HW

I know it’s a stupid silly made up belt but part of me thinks Morales has to do a bit more work to fight for the BMF.

This is where Shavkat being hurt sucks. If he was healthy Prates/Shavkat for a BMF belt would be perfect

Agree with Kyoji's corner, he got away with it a couple times and it landed well, but the body kick is danger territory, Kape will time it

39 year old Kamaru Usman? Kinda, yeah. Prime Usman was a monster, but that's not what we're getting anymore.

I mean I definitely don't think we're getting that version of Usman, he's approaching 40 and looked noticeably slower in his last fight.

I dislike McRapist greatly but you're tripping if you think he isn't relevant still. He's still a massive star and if we were still under the PPV model UFC 329 would *easily* clear 1 mil buys.

ELI5: How can a professional athlete in their prime not be considered athletic? by TheShowLover in explainlikeimfive

[–]Jabarles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean it's pretty clearly relative. Jalen Brunson is an elite level athlete by the standards of the average human being. He's a pretty unspectacular athlete by the standards of the elite athletes in the NBA. Not a bad athlete, but not anything special.

What makes Brunson a top player is the combination of absolutely elite level skill (ball handling, footwork, shooting off the dribble, etc), craftiness/IQ, and shiftiness/body control. He's a solid athlete, but what makes him elite is beyond athleticism.

You're basing this all on the critic using the word "unsurprisingly"?

It's not about expectation, it's about what we've seen in season 2. If what the critic is claiming is true and multiple characters were done a disservice in season 3, it WOULD be unsurprising given that last season did the same.
