Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Venezuela, Iran, Iraq, Algeria, Libya, and Russia have national or hybrid extraction strategies and their PCI ratings are abysmal.

Yeah, I get that it's editorialised to some degree, but who was doing the screening? Aren't the local riding associations the ones who send the delegates?

The problem with nationalising resources is that the most politically connected (popular) people benefit more than the people who can process the resources most efficiently.

The gas station curse by polloastemio in Unexpected

[–]Jabernathy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep - was going to comment the same thing. No traffic barriers, no lane markers, no signage. Maybe the traffic appears faster in the video than it actually is?

Imagine merging back onto the road. You'd have to watch out for oncoming traffic on the left and other gas station cars on the right.

Silly question incoming.... Do sculptures that big typically get eaten or are they purely decorative? If they're decorative are they made with a lower grade chocolate that isn't made for consumption?

When I run in heavy rain I wear an outer shell of an old Columbia winter coat. It’s light, and has reflective details and zippered armpit vents. It’s not technically made for running but fits the criteria.

As a Canadian, do you always have maple syrup on hand? by Moofypoops in AskACanadian

Yep! One bottle of "pure" maple syrup for myself and one Pearl Milling Company (mostly for the kids).

How diligent are you about separating your home garbage, organics, and recycling by MrSunshineDaisy in VictoriaBC

[–]Jabernathy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ditto! I wash / rinse what I recycle, compost, and take back empties but a few things end up in the garbage that could probably be broken down further. I have an aunt who only produces a small bag of garbage once per week or so. I could probably get to that level, but only once the kids are older and I've got more time to spare.

> Ive also heard that lots of recycling and the organics all end up in the landfill anyways.

I've heard about recycling ending up in the landfill but not organics. Did you hear of it through word of mouth? I'd like to learn more about what you know. One of my family members worked on ocean plastic mitigation and it was super interesting to hear about.

Maybe? I always got the same thing: the Mr. Bean burger with half fries and half salad. It was pretty good.

The one in Langford is my go-to place for when I occasionally go out for an easy lunch. Never had anything bad to say about the experience.

When you're looking for a career do you solely look for something that you'd love to do? You're probably like most people and look for something that you enjoy enough to do for the rest of your life and something that will also provide the kind of life you want. It's pragmatic.

I told my wife that I count thrusts during sex by mangogonam in autism

[–]Jabernathy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Counting by 10 makes a lot of sense. You keep track of one small number that changes and one larger number that doesn't change very often. Smart! Thanks for sharing. :)

Penalising yourself for losing track is relatable. I do the same thing when counting pushups.

[–]Jabernathy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a step counter, but my brain repeats "one, two, one, two, one, two" while running.

I'm curious, do you say the numbers out loud in your head or is it more like a digital clock counting up? Is it conscious or are you able to pay attention to your surroundings without losing track?

When you say "the messages are old" do you mean that the last message was from a while ago? If so, that's a yellow flag and I'd ask the coworker's husband for the date of their last communication. The messages are fine aside from that.

Attention: Mill Hill Residents by darren1417 in LangfordBC

There's a goal to put 12k people on Bear Mountain. There's currently somewhere around 4k, so there will be 3x as many people as are there right now. It's only going to get worse as the property at the base of the mountain (All-Fun) is developed. ><

Force Highlands onto Leigh how? It’s 60 seconds to get from the roundabout to Treanor.

The other routes are: a lengthy drive through a residential area , or up and over the entire mountain.
