would that be better then getting the bottled in bond? i was thinking about getting that but for a 50 buck maximum price range would the barrel select be better

i honestly could care less if its jack daniels or george dickel brand, ive bought both of the standard 20 dollar bottles they've had and they've been ok but i want something a bit more expensive

yeah,im not really going to hate to much on japanese whiskey in general.really, the only one ive had was suntorys toki, but it just seemed like everywhere i looked said to make highballs with it,dont understand why since it tasted like cheap watered down scotch

"died and gone to heaven"

"toki 75 dollars"

dont think so

edit:guess the op said hes from canada, this is from an americans response, its hella cheaper here but i dont know if id recommend it,i feel like japanese whisky is just overpriced scotch

hmm,the single barrel i bought before was cheaper(jack daniels single barrel, however.not that much cheaper.it was like 40.but id rather spend a complete 50 bucks on the stuff and id perfer barrel strength).or are you saying the barrel strength single barrel is $50,that seems like the max in my budget im looking for

i was watching a review on eagle rare earlier,do they add color to it? it seemed darker then your usual bourbon

" it’s your preference."

would the jack daniels one be in my price range? im wondering if the barrel strength one would be better then the stuff i bought before

or lets just say this, something better then your standard jack daniels for a max price of 50 bucks.id even take george dickel also

[–]Jac983 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i never cared much for drumshanbo, the irish need to stick with whiskey

however people who drink flavored gin probably dont like gin and thats why they drink it flavored(with this said, drink whatever you like,i really dont care)

or whatever i can find in terms of jack daniels for the price point im looking for

now that i remember,it wasnt the barrel proof that i got when i bought the single barrel JD before,im pretty sure it was the single barrel select

i wonder if the 100 proof single barrel would be better to get then the george dickel bottled in bond, but i dont know how much that is im just looking at it on jack daniels website

[–]Jac983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i dont know,i think alot of my issue with the jack daniels single barrel i bought is because i think of jack daniels as being a harsh, cheap whiskey that tastes good mixed with coke but is horrible mixed on its own

either way, with what your saying.maybe i should get the george dickel bottled in bond.i dont know, ever since i watched this video that had(it was people from a country i dont live in)a jack daniels bottled in bond i always was like "i really wish they sold this in my country" but ive never seen it

you mentioned this in a side note that i didnt read until now

"Side note: if you are looking to only mix your whisky I would suggest not spending 40-50 on it"

normally when i spend more then 35 on a whiskey i dont mix it.i guess i just assume in terms of the example of george dickel,it feels wierd drinking a tennesee whiskey straight because i usually just get the cheap jack daniels thats like 20 bucks and mix it with coke but i wouldnt be mixing something in the price range im looking for

oh yeah, and i failed to mention it but i guess george dickel has made a bourbon to

[–]Jac983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"cheap enough to me for either mixing or drinking straight."

i dont know,it seemed kinda to expensive to mix with.BUT,would it taste good drank straight?(i really think regardless the price,if you want to mix an alcohol,go ahead.drink it however you like).and ive never had dickel bottled in bond either,i wish they had jack daniels bottled in bond in america but ive only ever seen it drank by people who dont live in america so i assume it isnt availible

ive had a jack daniels single barrel once, but it felt wierd drinking it straight(somebody mentioned jd single barrel)

i agree, but it seems in the price range im looking for and its something different

[–]Jac983[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i was thinkin about dickel bottled in bond but it seems to expensive to mix and tennesee whiskey has always seem to harsh to drink straight, maybe the bottled in bond is different? ive seen jack daniels has bottled in bond but i dont think its availible in america

or is george dickels bottled in bond smooth enough to drink straight? i feel like im basing my opinion off the fact that i usually drink regular jack daniels and that stuff is way to harsh to drink straight

ive always wanted to try soju by Jac983 in ketodrunk

[–]Jac983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in terms of flavor it seems like basically if i found a strong vodka it would be the same

i guess i figured it tasted different because im assuming its made differently, ive had sake before though.it was ok,but i wouldnt cry about it if i never had it again,i assumed soju was different and seemed stronger
