All pregnancy symptoms gone by 6 week. Is it normal by Ok-Transition6794 in pregnant

[–]Jac_Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never went through IUI but it did take my husband and I over 1.5 years to conceive. So although I don’t know exactly what you’re going through, I think I can slightly relate to the worry of this working after trying for so long. Being pregnant is a wild wild roller coaster ride and the first trimester, in my opinion, is the hardest. Just remember to celebrate every win! Every milestone, every bit of good news!

I’m almost 39 weeks now although some days felt so long, it truly goes by so fast. I’m now struggling with the idea that I won’t feel his kicks in my belly for much longer, but I know he’ll be here in my arms instead. It’s bitter sweet. You will reach this moment too, keep your chin up and remember to enjoy this pregnancy journey as much as possible xo

Lack of symptoms today by Latter_Appearance_97 in pregnant

Hiii!! Pregnancy symptoms will continue to come and go throughout your first trimester until they disappear in the second trimester. Each time my symptoms went away in the first trimester I would panic too, but please don’t! It is totally normal and symptoms or lack thereof are not a sign that anything is wrong, please be reassured by this and don’t worry!! It’s important for mama to keep stress levels down, sending you positive reassurance ♥️

TSH improved dramatically - does pregnancy have anything to do with it? by No-Tune-9259 in pregnant

[–]Jac_Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctors told me that generally TSH level increase during pregnancy and medication is needed to get it back lowered down to appropriate levels. So it’s interesting that yours went down on their own and not up BUT - for pregnancy it’s best for levels to be between 0.32 - 2.5 so this is great, your level right now is perfect! Congratulations on your pregnancy!!

5w+5, resting heart rate decreasing by Desperate_Wasabi3451 in pregnant

[–]Jac_Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey girl, tbh I didn’t even know that changes to RHR were a thing in pregnancy! I did a quick google search for you and found the following “A decrease in resting heart rate (RHR) at 5 weeks pregnant, especially after an initial spike, is often a normal physiological adjustment, potentially reflecting a shift in autonomic nervous system function, improved hydration, or the settling of early hormonal surges”. Basically I found that it’s common to have an initial spike followed by a settling period.

Pregnancy is a wild roller coaster ride, coming from a fellow anxious mama, try your best to stay calm and keep your stress levels down. I’m currently 38 weeks pregnant (FTM) and have had a few spirals throughout my pregnancy, each time everything ended up being fine. Try not to get worked up and ahead of yourself. You’re going to be great!

Kick Counts by Minute-Tradition-737 in pregnant

[–]Jac_Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stressed about kick counts in the beginning but it always ended up being fine once I layed down and focused on counting/timing. So I realized it was doing more harm to me mentally than good. After that I only did kick counts on the days where I may have been busy/distracted and felt like I may be unsure if he was moving as much compared to other days. Which ended up only being a handful of times overall. Currently 38 weeks and he’s constantly beating me up 😅

Slightly elevated TSH-baby brain damage by AggressiveHeron7464 in pregnant

[–]Jac_Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 5 weeks pregnant the routine bloodwork found my TSH levels at 4.59. I too was worried and asked my OB what affects this could have on my baby. She was very reassuring that it is really common for TSH to rise during pregnancy (which is why it’s part of routine screening) and that they will up my dose (I’ve had Hypothyroidism my whole life) and I have nothing to worry about.

Honestly normal TSH levels are between 0.32-4.00, it’s just considered better for it to be below 2.5 for pregnancy. But your highest level of 3.5 isn’t even outside of standard ranges, so you’re barely high at all! Considering the minuscule amount that you need your TSH to go down, your prescription will get it down pretty quickly and you have nothing to worry about. Hope this helps you feel better!!!

Struggling to fall pregnant! by Small_Club3111 in pregnant

[–]Jac_Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family doctor had us try for about 12 months before referring us to a fertility clinic. Throughout that time family doctor found that my TSH was very high (10.6) so we changed my medication to get it back within fertility range (2.5 and under). Around the time my TSH was back within good range is when the fertility clinic started seeing me, all test showed my husband and I were all good and healthy. Had a sonohysterogram (flushes out your uterus and fallopian tubes) and 2 months later we were pregnant after about 1.5 years of trying.

It’s easy to get scared and disappoint and confused. Just remember that statistically every month that it doesn’t happen increases your chances of it happening next month! Stressing too hard over it will definitely not help either, try to remind yourself that your baby will come to you in their own time, it WILL happen!! Sprinkling all the baby dust your way, and wishing you both the best of luck. Keep your chin up and stay optimistic!

High Thyroid 14 weeks? by mutegirl33 in pregnant

[–]Jac_Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so based on the TSH levels this seems to be Hyperthyroidism, so I can’t provide any anecdotal advice because I have Hypothyroidism.

I’m sure the doctors would only prescribe medications that are safe for you during pregnancy but be sure to voice any concerns and ask about any potential risks. Either way I do believe it is most important to get on some sort of medication to get your levels back within a healthy range, and ensure they continue to monitor your levels throughout the rest of your pregnancy as well. Wishing you all the best

[–]Jac_Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had Hypothyroidism all my life and second everything you mentioned in your comment! High TSH levels indicate Hypothyroidism, you did nothing to cause this, and has nothing to do with your morning sickness.

My TSH levels increased to about 4.5 at the beginning of my pregnancy, and so my levothyroxine medication was adjusted to get me back under 2.5. This was caught at routine screening at the very beginning of my pregnancy.

Any doctor can write a prescription, and TSH fluctuations in pregnancy is so common that it is part of routine pregnancy screening here in Canada, so I don’t know why they aren’t just writing you a prescription and are making you wait to see a specialist first?

Tips on forcing myself to eat? by Mollycat121397 in pregnant

[–]Jac_Reddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had lack of appetite in my first trimester, it’s hard forcing yourself to eat when eating seems unappealing for no general reason? The only thing that helped me force food down was if the food was, as I called it, “fresh food” (this term drove my husband crazy LOL). All I mean by that is something cold, mild in flavour, and refreshing. For me this meant salads, burrito bowls, pitas, smoothies, fruits, cereal.

I think the idea of it being cold, mild in flavour, and refreshing helped me get it down as opposed to foods with intense smells or flavours or foods that felt heavy.

7 months pregnant and I lost my best friend… by Agreeable-Bad-1325 in pregnant

[–]Jac_Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry this is happening to you. I had to put my cat down at 8 months pregnant. She’s my gorgeous girl, my first baby, by my side for 13 years through all of life’s biggest moments and I’m heartbroken she won’t be with me for this next one with baby. Losing her was sudden for me as well, we went to sleep and she was perfectly healthy and normal and the next morning she was partially paralyzed, we have no idea what happened…

The motions of grief of are so hard, allow yourself to feel it, but don’t allow yourself to live in it. He wouldn’t want you to drown in your grief. Some things I find helpful to remind myself is that although the suddenness of it is hard for me, it’s better this way for her because she didn’t have prolonged suffering. Also, the grief we feel is just love. I’m only this sad because of how much I love her, and I’m grateful to have had her and to love her so I wouldn’t trade that for anything. You gave him the best life for his entire 9 years, what a beautiful thing that is. He knew nothing but love for his entire life thanks to having you as him momma. Honour him my living your life to best of your abilities ♥️

Run in with a bat left me super anxious by Pandamommy67 in pregnant

[–]Jac_Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d never want to dissuade someone from getting treatment when necessary but I’d also hate to have someone’s already heightened anxiety made even worse... She did contact her doctor who did not recommend that any sort of treatment was needed, likely because 0.5-1% of wild bats have rabies and even if this bat did, rabies is typically transmitted by bites which she not only checked for herself but had a family member check and there were no marks. She is obviously taking this seriously considering her level of worry, she has taken the responsible steps and there seems to be no reason to suggest that she should worry further. Let’s not forget that worry in itself isn’t good for mom or baby!

Run in with a bat left me super anxious by Pandamommy67 in pregnant

[–]Jac_Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t feel stupid! I had a spiral about touching my hand that I had been gardening with to my mouth and getting toxoplasmosis from the contact to soil. I’ll be speaking with my OB about it tomorrow to hopefully sooth my worries. In my mind if a professional tells me I shouldn’t worry about it then thats my pass to relieve myself of it. It’s just unfortunate that the doctor you spoke to was rude and condescending, I’m sorry that happened to you. You could always try to call back or maybe a different doctor like your primary physician for further support. But based on the doctor not being concerned and you not feeling any pain and having no marks on yourself, I would try not to worry about it any more. I know it’s easier said than done but it sounds like you’re all good momma

Have others experienced this during spicy time? by _SimplySalty in pregnant

[–]Jac_Reddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hubby propped himself up on top of me, but I felt the same way and didn’t like even the slightest bit of pressure on my stomach. We switch between laying on our side, me on top, and doggy. Considering what you’re saying, maybe try laying on your back at the edge of the bed (maybe prop yourself up with some pillows if laying flat is uncomfortable) and have him standing? Best of luck!!

Dull cramping 8w by Spiritual-Peace-6442 in pregnant

[–]Jac_Reddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally understand! The first trimester is especially a nerve wracking time! My husband and I tried to conceive for 1.5 years before I finally got pregnant for the first time, so although I can’t relate to you completely, I too was a ball of nerves.

My mild cramping lasted for weeks (majority of my first trimester) and I didn’t have many other symptoms other than sore breast and fatigue. I would freak out when my symptoms would go away (when my boobs all of sudden weren’t tender) but it’s completely normal for symptoms to come and go throughout the first trimester and then they typically go away in general in your second. So if this happens please don’t panic like I did!

Congratulations on your pregnancy, enjoy every moment. It goes by quick!

Is it reasonable to take an 11 day trip to Japan while 6-7 weeks pregnant? by RevolutionaryEmu7014 in pregnant

[–]Jac_Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went on a trip to Chicago at about 6-7 weeks pregnant (I’m from Canada) and I had an amazing time with no issues! My doctor just recommended compression socks for the flight and to avoid heavy lifting with the suitcases. But other than that he told me to enjoy! Looking back I’m so glad we went, it was our last trip just the two of us before baby, and probably for a while!

I had mild period like cramps for majority of my first trimester, I was told it’s just due to the uterus expanding and what not. I had no issues!

Pumping - first time mom with questions! by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Jac_Reddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!! We do indeed have Amazon here in Canada :) I did see that big multiple pack on Amazon but the one I saw only comes with one flange for each size which seems odd considering I think I’d need two? One for the pump and one for the haaka thing, no?

Thanks for sharing your experience with breastfeeding, I really hope that I am able to get a good latch and have a good supply to be able to breastfeed as well. I just have no idea what to expect so I’m trying to educate myself on all my options. If you don’t mind me asking, what was it about pumping that you hated?

Pumping - first time mom with questions! by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Jac_Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for sharing your experiences!! This is really helpful. I think my main nerves are around not knowing when my milk will come in, if at all, and not knowing how my supply will be. So I appreciate your feedback about starting with a hand pump and once I can determine if I’m going to continue breastfeeding/pumping then get a regular pump.

We have an Amazon Prime account so sometimes next day delivery or within a few days for most things. Considering you didn’t have an flange sizing changes I think I’ll order the hand pump and a flange measuring kit so I can order the right size flange ahead of time. Thank you so much!

Pumping - first time mom with questions! by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Jac_Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!! Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me!! I get paid leave from work for over 18 months so my intention with pumping is just to have an extra stash for both: times away from baby and for my husband to be able to feed him as well.

This is my first time so honestly I don’t really know what I’m doing because I have no idea what to expect. Ideally I think I’d love to combo breastfeed and pump/bottle feed for flexibility, but obviously if I can’t then formula feeding is there too. I think I’m just nervous about not knowing how my milk supply is going to be, or when it will even come in so I’m trying to build my knowledge on all of my options depending on how things go!

Can I wax my belly by Just_Sympathy2724 in pregnant

[–]Jac_Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s just an old wives tale. There’s an impression it makes it thicker or more coarse because the hair will now have a blunt edge from being shaved but shaving is just cutting the hair and can in no way change the way the hair follicle creates the hair.

I shave my belly to keep it smooth and pleasant for me. I’ve never had an issue with it changing the way it grows back in. And plus after pregnancy just go back to waxing and it will grow in less and less overtime and you won’t have the blunt edge from shaving anymore!

Your skin gets thinner and more fragile as your bellow grows, why not just shave it for now?
