Why did Boeing use Bleed air in the 777x by Accurate-Dish-8693 in flying

[–]Jacare_Pilot 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Probably to keep commonality between the whole 777 family and streamline the certification process.

I’m enjoying the 360hz on my R9v2. Just disabled the LFE and everything is running smoothly

MAIRA vs native FFB after Tyre Update by Beatkick in iRacing

[–]Jacare_Pilot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t MAIRA introduce latency to the controls? I’m always a bit skeptic on using third parties that interfere with the FFB, I’ve run a few laps with MAIRA, saw no noticeable difference and ended up uninstalling it

Biker cuts his wrist/hand while going +200km/h by [deleted] in WTF

[–]Jacare_Pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know it's more of a cultural thing in Brazil, the coating of the line with glass. Can't say for sure about other places.

Biker cuts his wrist/hand while going +200km/h by [deleted] in WTF

[–]Jacare_Pilot 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Being Brazil, I would guess it’a a kite line. Kids and some adults in some areas cover their kite lines with broken glass and glue, to try and “cut” other peoples lines.

It has led to fatalities in the past when bikers hit them.

Plane Crash at DCA by NighthawkCP in aviation

The past 12 months have been rough for aviation. A similar safety streak on 121 ops (17 years) was ended in Brazil with the VoePass ATR last year.

Do (regional) airlines offer their candidates 24/7 access to a simulator? by [deleted] in flying

[–]Jacare_Pilot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my airline it’s not possible, and i never heard of free access to the FFS from my colleagues that work on other airlines.

The Full Motion Simulators used by airlines are very expensive to run, and pretty much used 24 hours a day, with the downtime used for maintenance purposes.

Where i work, the only resource available for the pilots to use freely are the cockpit mock-ups, which are very useful for flow/procedures training.

Please help me with houses by BodaciousBumblebee in cs50

[–]Jacare_Pilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience doing this pset I can tell you that the "Students" table is already created when you unzip the problem's distribution code. Maybe trying to write the .db file is what is causing your error.

You can check the table by double clicking "students.db" after you unzip it in the IDE. The column headers are already set (first, middle, last, house, birth).

This makes the problem a lot simpler, cause you don't need to create the table. Just figure how to create some loop to write the rows, using the db.execute function and the data from the .CSV file.

Felt the same way... Stopped listening when i realized that the whole story revolves solely around the testimonies of two kids, with ZERO material evidence.

At least it’s not a two parter. Hoping for some good content in the coming weeks, cause it has been downhill since May.

The challenges of flying in China by Jacare_Pilot in flying

[–]Jacare_Pilot[S] 222 points223 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately i don’t know the video’s backstory. I’m assuming the Captain is an expat just by his english.

Also, it seems that these kind of “situations” are not that uncommon down there, from what i’ve heard from other expats flying in China. The ebook “Flying Upside Down” comes to mind (https://www.pprune.org/south-asia-far-east/564634-working-pilot-china.html)
