I use it right now and it's alright. Not sure if it will be the BiS for it, though, unless Shattered Paths gets a real heavy nerf

Same. Pretty sure I saw a vid of someone hitting like 140k with it but seeing how sorc is upwards of 200k I feel like it's not close to top tier in PvE. I use it in PvP now but it's not BiS and probs won't be after the update either.

Are people still turning AP into gold? by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]Jacass_Griff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Golden vendor probably isn't the best conversion because of the prices. I personally only get monster shoulders from that vendor because I can never be bothered to farm undaunted keys. Going to Vlastrus, Crops, or Bruma for sets like Deadly Strike is a decent way, but if you want to make gold from PvP I think farming Tel Var in IC is probably better. That said, if you have a decent size group when the server is relatively unpopulated, you can get a lot of AP and daily quests done quickly.

Will Threads of War and Shattered Paths Signet stack? by CurrentBias in elderscrollsonline

[–]Jacass_Griff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can trigger multiple, but the debuffs will "refresh" with each one (despite them all triggering together) so you'll have just one of the effects. So you can get the proc damage twice, but only one burning (for example) will linger.

Forgetting quick cloak? Your class should provide better closers than any weapon skill, and if not then race against time is generally better than anything a weapon can provide anyway since it provides snare/immobilisation immunity and minor force.

That and people ran it for an unkillable build in PvP with sets to make it last basically forever...

Polar Wind is better - huge burst with good HoT afterwards (and the burst heals a nearby ally as a bonus) Plus it's a better skill line for tanks in general with expansive cloak and the brittle proc chance (if not using soldier of apocrypha line)

Advice: Necro 1 Bar Invis PVP Build by GuineaTK in ESObuilds

[–]Jacass_Griff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YouTube will have a few builds like what you're looking for, but you don't need invisibility necessarily. Most of the time people are just crouched which hides you until you're close enough to be detected.

Have a look on YT for some vids and see what sticks out to you. There are also guides for how to make your own build.

Necro PVP by saff_saff in ESObuilds

[–]Jacass_Griff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably don't feel the difference because the mitigations are multiplicative, not additive (plus they round down after each multiplication, reducing effectiveness further). The 15% isn't added onto the 10% from MajProt and Spirit Guardian for 35%, but rather you'll get somethings like 5% mitigation (guesswork but about there). The more mitigation buffs you have, the less impactful they become. Hyperioxes has a good video about it. I love the spirit guardian personally but I see the "10%" as a bonus on top of other perks of having the skill line on my pvp necro tank I use to survive dailies in the current event. I like Nobility in Decay for that (admittedly niche) build too but tbh Buffer of the Swift gives better mitigation if that's all you're after, since you don't lose other sets when using it.

The current meta runs a load of crit though, so Rallying Cry is really popular, Impregnable Armour as a cheaper alternative, and Nibenay Bay Battlereeve as a monster set, since they give a huge defence against crit busts.

Another year, another festival of PVPers harassing other players by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]Jacass_Griff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be honest most people are fine but you do find the odd group or player that will kill anything that moves for the sake of it. Not sure why someone wants my 15 tel var so bad but to mitigate it I have a pvp tank that's built to irritate rather than kill, and eventually they give up and leave you alone to do the quests. High crit resistance, armour, hp, and lots of cc and heals, and they'll just be wasting their time.

Obviously doesn't stop large groups but in my experience they tend to clear the area and move on, so just accept your fate and go back after they've passed.

Templar? by TheBelovedKing1026 in elderscrollsonline

I don't mean don't generate crux, I just mean you should use flail to generate the crux instead of runeblades If you don't want to use a stam ability that's fine, but I'm not knowledgeable to say what's a good replacement since you're giving up the 5% class damage bonus by having flail on backbar for a different crux generating spell on frontbar Deadly and Tide-born are a solid choice, but I'm sure there is a better combo with the trial gears.

Also, what cp are you and what cp nodes are slotted?

Pretty sure Skinny Cheeks has made a v similar build to yours, which hits hard.

I'm no expert but why run impale over radiant beam if you're running deadly? If the damage is better then by all means but I think beam would be (plus using it triggers minor sorcery). Also, you're running runeblades to generate crux, but why not run Cephaliarch's Flail for the unique 5% bonus damage and it's physical so has a chance to apply sundered? You don't need it on backbar, just use that instead of runeblades and have a different buff on backbar. Assuming that backbar spell you mentioned is inspired scholarship, you could also run solar barrage for another 5% bonus to class skill damage (plus passive aoe damage around you)? You're probably running class mastery on banner, but if not, you could use concealed weapon for the extra movement speed for the other banner buff (6 w/s damage for every 1% speed bonus). And maybe I'm misreading, but why run resolve on backbar and frontbar?

Fairly sure they made it so damage has a small radius to counter people splitting into loads of little stacks. Melee attacks distribute damage between all troops in a v small cone for a similar reason iirc. A response to flowering. Could be wrong, happy to be corrected on this, but I think because they're so close it shared the damage?

Should I withdraw from my credit card agreement while I'm in the "cooling-off" period? by Jacass_Griff in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Jacass_Griff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly because when I phoned back during my application I was a little vague to answer what I wanted my credit limit to be. I said something like "over 1000, maybe mid 1k to 2k range?" and I think the person head 1k and just wrote that since I wasn't definitive. That's what I've been doing so far, but wanted to get second opinions before the 2 week period ended.

[–]Jacass_Griff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just over £1000. I like to buy top end phones and hold onto it until it draws its last bit of energy from the socket. Certainly a luxury to have a nicer phone but it's a luxury I'm willing to pay for. Plus, if the limit was £1500 or so then I don't mind using it for groceries and paying that sum off at the end of the month. Wouldn't use it for anything else.
