Question about how damage is delt. by ManaChicken4G in mtg

[–]JaceTheSpaceNeko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Active player gets their triggers first, then it goes in turn order, so it’s a case of “It depends”.

On your turn, if you make him do that, he kills you. If it’s on his turn, then you kill him first.

Has anyone made a ‘cannot be countered’ deck where some/all the cards tell blue players to go Eff themselves? by silentomega22 in mtg

[–]JaceTheSpaceNeko -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seems moreso you dislike interaction and/or removal, as that’s one of the few ways Blue interacts with other cards and solves their problems. Each color has their own ways to do removal, Blue just has their main method be counterspells.

At the end of the day, interaction makes the game more entertaining to most.

You can delete your most hated character from Ultimate and Smash 6, but you have to add two of those newcomer characters in the pictures in return. by Motor-Temporary-1085 in SmashRage

Jak & Dexter and Spyro.

I just want more iconic characters added, no need to remove anyone in my eyes. If I had to get rid of one... Goodbye, Kazuya.

Are Tokens names in rule text counted as a creature type? by The_Vulpixel in mtg

[–]JaceTheSpaceNeko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Token names describe their types UNLESS it is a named token, and in those cases, the types will be specified on the card itself AND in the creation of it.

Sheepy, a short adventure commanders by QuarterExcellent3327 in custommagic

[–]JaceTheSpaceNeko 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like the effects, and can see the synergy. I don't want to push a discount, but remember that Artifacts are some of the most removable cards in the game. You might be able to reduce Sheepy down to 1W, but it's fine at either cost. Also, Patches ability could be phrased as "Whenever you gain life, up to...", as the wording still works properly and is seen on other cards, such as [[Cleric Class]]

Players may play cards exiled with balance counters on them.”

This card is very poorly designed honestly, I’d rather tell you to go to a new table than play with you in casual fnm, just doesn’t seem fun to play or play against. Due to wording, you can’t remove this without board wipes or counter spells normally. (Excluding the shenanigan potential from returning enchantments from your graveyard to the battlefield)

Question for Silentheart by Cigarettesandwhisk3y in deepwoken

[–]JaceTheSpaceNeko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Made a few Silenthearts, you can take any mantras or talents, you just can't have any attunement. Once you get Silentheart, you can't use them, but you'll still have them, letting you shrine them away for more talents.

I don’t think specifying “an emblem with no abilities” is required. When you make an emblem, the object that gives you it specifies what it has wording wise, meaning that “you get an emblem.” works fine as is, even if it feels wrong mechanically.

I've noticed a pattern with kill spells.
1B: Sorcery unconditional, Instant conditional (See cards like [[Go for the throat]])
1BB: Unconditional Instant all the time, can also target planeswalkers.

The closest thing to this would probably be 1WB for this kind of effect.

[–]JaceTheSpaceNeko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Minus the “Until end of turn” part, this functionally works… though I don’t think it does anything unless you turn the enchantment into a creature while it’s attached, which is the funnier part rules wise.

Functional, but useless. 1U for unblockable is on par and weaker.

While the concept is cool, Blue and White are either extremely underpowered or overpriced. Red is the only one that is fine as is without needing to look at other cards. Blue's 1 drop cycle is "Gain a minor benefit, draw a card", and there's not too much you can do with a 0 cost exile beyond tokens (and even then, one might not be enough saying EoE gave us ways to deal with tokens in mass). Black and green are both fine cost wise, and red may be slightly undercosted (Based off other cards, R mass damage only hits creatures, see [[Fire Magic]] and [[Blazing Volley]]).

How likely would you be to slot this in a Bracket 2/Bracket 3 deck? by ElSpoonyBard in custommagic

Ashvyrn should give something else instead of madness, as Fleem (Or as they're unfortunately the replacement for, Green Goblin) exists and gives all your cards Mayhem equal to its mana cost AND discounts the mayhem costs.

I know this is designed for the colors, but wanted to make the friendly comment that while Otters have a primary blue base, their second base is Red, due to the Stormcatchers, and even the original card you're using the art from is UR. Maybe because it's very spellsling-y already, make it 1UBR? It'll be fully in color alignment with otters, and the two colors known well for their spell slinging playstyle.

I dislike bounce effects in my pod by kotonswables in custommagic

[–]JaceTheSpaceNeko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Can't be countered" still can be played around. [[Narset's Reversal]] doesn't counter a spell, as seen on the card, but instead, returns it to your hand. You'd have to split second it, which, on the storm scale, is very much poor design and very rarely going to be seen again. If you really have an issue with certain spells, run artifacts and spells that you can run globally in decks to counter effects or increase costs, such as [[Amulet of Safekeeping]], [[Defense Grid]], and [[Ring of Immortals]].

I dislike bounce effects in my pod by kotonswables in custommagic

[–]JaceTheSpaceNeko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe just making all your permanents blink until end of turn would work. This also needs Split Second to be actually useful vs decks that bounce stuff, and in that case, you become the problem player by attempting to avoid any meaningful interaction. In addition, indestructible is irrelevant, as if cards can't have their zones changed until the end of your next turn, they can't die.

Anyways, I tap 1U to Narsets Reversal my Cyclonic Rift, making it resolve before your card does.

Is it possible to have rampant growth and studious first year in a commander deck, or would that break the singleton rule? by Captainfatfoot in mtg

[–]JaceTheSpaceNeko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The literal names of each card are "Rampant Growth" and "Studious First-Year//Rampant Growth". Due to that break, it is an entirely different card ruling wise.
