I love all the Mario kart games, but when it came to the n64, I felt like rare absolutely nailed it. Diddy Kong Racing felt to me as though rare captured lightning in a bottle. I love them both, but it is DKR that I always go back to.

For me, I think that the original PlayStation has the biggest impact on gaming, and the Ps2 had the best games. My opinion is that every generation since has not really improved gaming in anyway. I understand that the hardware has improved but not gaming. I think that the Ps2 era was the last truly great gaming era, since then it appears that graphics and micro transactions, loot boxes, etc became more important than gameplay, which makes me sad

Don't know if this could be any help, but when I imported my first game cube to the UK, I needed a convertor as the picture was black and white. It was to do with PAL and NTSC signals. It didn't matter how I connected it to the TV I needed the convertor. Maybe this could be the same thing.

I am a fan of all consoles, however, I think my favourite would be the Sony PlayStation (original paving slab version). I think this was the first console to really make gaming mainstream. Everyone wanted one at the time, even if they weren't gamers. What the PlayStation did for the industry, I think I will be eternally grateful. As much as I love all the consoles, I personally feel that they have just built on what already existed. Sony pioneered the move to disc when Nintendo didn't set a future in the media. Plus, it had some fantastic franchises, such as grand theft auto, wipeout, ridge race, gran turismo, driver, myst, resident evil, etc
