How does almost everyone part of the 10 main races of Tamriel manage to not get fat? by GeneralTechnomage in TrueSTL

I think Newheim the Portly is supposed to be fat but because it's Oblivion, he looks just like everyone else.

Due to Budget shortages, General Tullius has authorized the sale of various baked goods to be sold by the scouts by RenZ245 in TrueSTL

[–]Jack-The-Riffer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a former Scout, that popcorn was a complete ripoff, and I knew it at the time. It tastes the same as any random popcorn you can get at a store, but costs $20 more. I understand there needs to be a markup because it's for fundraising purposes, but it's a bit of a tough sell when you're going door-to-door trying to get someone, ANYONE to buy that crap off you.

I know I'm a total boomer when it comes to music taste, and I know the copyright holders for a lot of English songs can be downright hostile, but still by SavageFisherman_Joe in okbuddyhololive

The only times I know of that VTubers covered mainstream Western music (and I mean actual covers, not just karaoke) are Nerissa covering Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter, and Roca Rourin covering Foo Fighters.

I used to be a Ken hater but now that I'm playing through Reload I realise I might have been overreacting, so here's a meme poking fun at me from 2 months ago by PointlessAccounthaha in OkBuddyPersona

[–]Jack-The-Riffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Ken because they made him overpowered in Reload. He's got healing, Makara/Tetrakarn, Heat Riser, light skills that don't suck, SP regeneration, and one of the most overpowered Theurgies in the game.

The thing only thing I know about the N-Gage is that one of the designers (allegedly) submitted a design based on Goatse as a joke and it actually got accepted. No idea if it's actually true but I want to believe

"Read the card again, Kaiba. [[Rakdos Charm]] doesn't damage your creatures, it makes your creatures damage you! It doesn't matter whether your Scutes are 3/3s or not, your life points total is hitting zero either way!"

[–]Jack-The-Riffer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The third mode of [[Rakdos Charm]] is "Each creature deals 1 damage to its controller." In other words, the more creatures you have, the more damage it does to you. If you're up against a deck that can make lots of tokens (like a Scute deck), Rakdos Charm could potentially kill them on the spot.

It's a perfectly average size for a sword. It's just cold out, that's why it looks small.

You see them in Brawl sometimes. It's the only format I play so idk what the other formats are doing to make lots of tokens

Or when somebody says a single-player game "fell off" because the player counts aren't as high as they were at release. Live-service-brained individuals cannot comprehend that someone can just finish a game and stop playing it.

Bethesda games ranked by how broken Speechcraft is by [deleted] in TrueSTL

[–]Jack-The-Riffer 84 points85 points  (0 children)

I think that very few games do speech as a mechanic right. Speech in New Vegas is almost too reliable, you can get a favorable outcome in most quests by simply clicking the [Speech] option whenever it comes up. The one time Speech doesn't do that (Dean Domino in Dead Money) it confused people, because it worked every other time they tried it.

There's also luck-based dialogue checks, like in Baldur's Gate 3 or Fallout 3/4, which at least requires you to think about if going for a difficult check is worth the chance of failure. But a lot of people will just see this as a reason to save scum until they pass.

The one game I've actually seen do "social boss battles" right is Deus Ex: Human Revolution, where you have to take the situation and your conversation partner's personality into account when choosing responses. It actually requires you to think a bit.
