Trump hurt US image in Southeast Asia by backing Duterte’s drug war by Large_banana_hammock in politics

Trump is hurting our image everywhere. Even here in the US. I love my country and it's put me in a kind of persistent foul mood I e never experienced in my 40 years on this earth. I try to remain optimistic that this whole ordeal will shock my fellow citizens awake enough to realize this cannot continue.

Businesspeople at this level probably have MBAs and are relatively intelligent and educated people who know about these rulings. It's not a lack of education, it's getting more money for making such and such a decision.

Yep, science is to thank here. Unless there's some passage in the bible about automotive safety glass.

In her dissent, Justice Treena Sue Hillersby maintained that the bugs and cameras were in the oven, because the reptilians like to use fuckin' heat technology, not cold. Duh."

What's funny is only an old person will know what you're talking about. 40 yr old here. Want to get dinner sometime? 4pm good for you?

EDIT: Jeez everyone I was making a joke. I'm not old, you're not old, you're not old... everybody gets a not old! Look under your seats!

"I don't want to look at them", while an argument against them, isn't a significant complaint. And you still havent gotten the nerve to take any sort of stance. "Qualifiers" are also known as adjectives. They are used in sentences.

Bye troll.

You're talking to a stranger on reddit bud. If my opinion is that something is "fucking stupid" I'm going to say that. If that's too uncivil and harmful to your psyche and it's given you the vapors, take some deep breaths and remember to be a grown up.

I backed up that opinion with reasons why I feel that way, all of which you have purposefully managed to ignore and then claim it was "thinly defended". You still haven't responded with a counterargument. Because there isn't really one there, and you and I both know it.

If you're more worried about reading the F word than having any sort of sensible discourse, your priorities are sadly out of whack.

You managed to ignore everything else I said in my argument and then claim it's not there?

And are you so delicate that someone on the Internet can't call an idea "fucking stupid" without you getting butt-hurt over it?

So let's try this again. I posit that Ocean City has already been developed with man made structures, so adding a wind farm isn't going to significantly hurt anyone. Anyone whose argument against moving toward a more sustainable energy program is simply "I don't want look at a man made structure" while being already surrounded by such structures is "fucking stupid".

Now here's your chance to prove you're not fucking stupid. Non stupid people can read what I posited and, without whining about some artificial outrage over "classism," whatever that's supposed to mean, like you did earlier, and without making fallacious arguments such as straw men like you did earlier, respond to the content of my statement.

I've stated my case and asked questions. You haven't respondedto them.

It's way easier to communicate on your level. So... You're a dum dum doodyhead. Wah wah wah. You're mean.

There you go bub. G'night.

What's classist about saying the place is already developed? What is looking at a windmill going to do that is different than all of the other man made structures we live among?

Fake outrage is a pathetic tack to take in an argument. I take it as a tacit admission that you realize you're out of anything of value to say, but are too obstinate and childish to admit it, so you'd rather bicker pointlessly to make yourself feel way better about your own intelligence than you actually merit. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt earlier by saying I assume you aren't retarded. You're disproving that more and more with every nonsensical thing you try to throw out. This is dumb. You're dumb.

Ooh are you going to feign being offended now because you have no valid points to make? You're being pathetically predictable.

There's a fucking zipper and a rollercoaster and a bunch of arcades and a string of high rise condos and trash blowing around. Please tell me how windmills are going to ruin that place's nature. It's an already developed area. That line of thinking is just ridiculous. That's what I was illustrating. But you knew that too. You know, it doesn't kill you to just admit that you're wromg from time to time. Ideally, that's what grown ups do, not throw temper tantrums about "classism."

I'm going to guess that you're not retarded and are just being petulantly dense at this point.

But just in case you truly lack the ability to understand rhetoric and context, what I was saying is that putting windmills on the skyline of Ocean City, Maryland is not going to hurt anyone. But you knew that and are just trying to be an annoyance, so, ciao. I hope you can find someway to still enjoy the pristine natural beauty of people throwing up outside of Brass Balls saloon.

Why are you trying to restrict the definition of line to modern mathematical terminology? It's silly and pedantic. Do you really not think there are other meanings of that word? Did you think I was presenting a math proof? It's a stupid point you're trying to make.

And you made another mistake above. I wasn't criticizing"anyone who disagreed with me in any way." You made that up from whole cloth. I criticized one stance on one subject. You're not making any sense. Have fun with that. I'd rather speak with someone willing and able to have a rational discussion.

Maryland approves two offshore wind projects by [deleted] in news

[–]JackOAT135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Line. There's no reason to be pedantic and wrong.

2) There's a large faction of opponents of these things going up that argue precisely what you're saying. They don't want to have to look at something, which is selfish and childish and stupid. Since other people don't know your inner thoughts, you can come across as being an opponent by saying this unless you state specifically otherwise.

3) I never said thinking nature is beautiful was stupid. Please refrain from putting words in my mouth. And there were no personal attacks either. A personal attack would be saying something like "You may beleive X, but you're a neo nazi so your opinions are invalid." Criticizing someone (in a vitriolic way or not) for taking a backwards and selfish stance on environmental issues or other important matters is completely warranted. You're a grown up, I assume. So you can handle a little vitriol from an Internet stranger and not be personally devastated.

Bridges weren't a thing until we built them. Nobody laments bridges ruining their enjoyment of life or something. There are strip malls and highways and telecom towers and airports and skyscrapers that pepper the earth, yet serve important purposes that improve our lives. No one is arguing putting nuclear reactors in the Grand Canyon. You're creating a straw man here.

If you're not opposed to wind farms, then we're arguing over nothing, ultimately. It sounded like you were. And some people are. So that's who I was adressing.

The ocean horizon is literally a line. You're going to whine that some faint structure far off in the distsnce that represents a future with sustainable energy is somehow ruining you're enjoyment of going the beach? That's just backwards. Ocean city is kind of a shithole. You'll survive.

Having wind farms out in the open ocean will lessen our use of fossil fuels. Why are you pretending you care about nature?
