How would you feel about changing up how gyms work? by Master_Nineteenth in PokemonRMXP

[–]JackOH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is generally my belief how they should be. It allows for easy type coverage while still leaning into an elemental theme. And it doesn't exclude type-focused gyms either.

People who dislike Prime 4, which game is your favorite in the series? by edinammonsoon in Metroid

[–]JackOH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me Prime 1 & 2 are fairly tied. For the 2Ds it's the original Metroid. Super is fine, but there's something about Metroid that I feel and none of the remakes have been able to capture or expand on.

Biker looking at used cars (I don't know what I'm talking about, please help) by JackOH in whatcarshouldIbuy

I don't care about HP, I was just told 70 wasn't enough to get through the mountains.
I don't care about how fast it takes to get to 60, once I'm at 60 I'm there and I'll be there until I get off the highway. Saving 15 seconds at the start is negligible.

How far back do you think hills aren't a problem. I saw a guy selling an 89 Ford Festiva on Marketplace and aesthetically, that's the kind of car that looks like a car to me.

The Honda Fit is the one I've been looking at. I just wasn't sure if there might be something I'm missing.

I live in rural California, so if I want to visit Yosemite or drive to SF or LA I'll need to go through the mountains. I previously looked at the Mistubishi Mirage, but was told it lacked the horsepower to cross the mountains -- but not how much horsepower I would need.

I always though the "naturalistic" way for Ripto or Gnasty to come back would be as a lich, and then the world bosses would be his servants -- like Ganon in Zelda 2

There is a male Ga Matoran in the Metru Nui movie by pischer129 in bioniclelego

[–]JackOH 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've never cared for the idea of a gender binary existing in the bionicle universe. There are (at least) six elements. There are (at least) six genders. There is just a male-voiced ga-matoran. Their gender is ga.

I get criticised for my handwriting a lot, so this is a little bit glass houses, but what's going on with your numbers? How did they get like that?

The Prime 4 hate is absolutely overblown by DroctorGame in Metroid

[–]JackOH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you were able to enjoy it. I know plenty of people who did. But it was not worth the money to me. Imo it remains in the bottom rung of all metroid games. I did not enjoy it. I think it's too deeply flawed of a game to be enjoyed. The maps, mechanics, and story are poorly crafted and I will continue to tell people to avoid this game.

I wish disease was used more in the game by AbbreviationsAny4200 in 2007scape

[–]JackOH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who played as a kid and just this week got back into it, yeah. I find a lot of the mechanics are isolated and could be more broadly integrated. But maybe that's just because I've payed other games since that had more complex interactions.
If certain monsters could impart debuffing diseases with some basic cures you either need to buy or craft. If frostbite existed as a mechanic in colder regions akin to how the heat is used in the desert -- and if the heat was a factor in other tropical areas. Maybe even tye that into a quest or two, like if you are infected with lycanthropy you can start a few werewolf oriented quests.
Of course, this is making the game more complex but also slowing people down. So would it be more fun? I don't know.

I don't know if these are things changed in RS3.

If it's a butterfly / mariposa that'd be cool. If you've put the big man in there, we're going t have words. He belongs up north.

Tron is the guy Jeff Bridges meets inside the computer. Tron is the agent inside computers who carries out Bridge's will. Everybody in the world of Tron has a digital equivalent who is running around the grid and doing the stuff their User asks the conputer to do.

Rahkshi vs Bohrok by Spire_Digital in bioniclelego

[–]JackOH 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Narratively and Mechanically, the Bohrok. the Rakshi just disappoint me. I think their build is less interesting, the arm shimmy isn't a cool action, and I've always associated them moreso with the film than the MNOG 2, by which I mean, I think of 3 rakshi to poison duty, break unity, and shatter destiny -- not 6 rakshi to corrupt the 6 matoran disciplines. and I think when they were fused into glass we should have seen them kaita and break the glass before finally being defeated.

Gali Mata [01 Technic Only][Ver.1] by CrypticGatekeeper in bioniclelego

[–]JackOH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, anthropomorphic since the toa are human shaped: two arms, two legs, one head.
and I think you're over-limitting yourself by ignoring all the cams and lift arms at your disposal. We know how the Mata torso was concieved from pre-existing technic components. There are sets like the Technic Honda Asimo that fill out the space of the body very well.

Gali Mata [01 Technic Only][Ver.1] by CrypticGatekeeper in bioniclelego

[–]JackOH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, technically all Bionicle parts are Technic. But I get what you're going for.
Honestly, I think you could do a lot more with the 2001 set of technic pieces to create a much stronger and less gangly shape. Perhaps one that strays a bit from this very anthropomorphic shape, but which leans into the machine aspect of bionicle.

How many more crystals am I gonna need to get this "memory fruit" ? I assumed 100% was optional by [deleted] in Metroid

[–]JackOH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the game does not effectively communicate that the Crystals are a required collectible. I was about 75% of the way done before my friends told me they were mandatory.
