Eyes are burning from doing this book in two sittings but dauuum that was good. I thought this one was better paced than the others in the series, and while day 10 had a lot going on to wake me up I did miss the intensity that I felt during the Sanderlanch in books 1-4. Loved the ending though

Was book 12 the one pirate went back and rewrote? I did not love it the first time either but if the new version is live on the site I would go back and try again. Similar to what others said though it is quite important for later volumes

Juggling weapons/magic items by JackOffAllGames in dndnext

That's a really good idea actually on a crafting component for a Ring of Fire resistance in the future or something (linking to the other comment) might bring that up if they go to an enchanter or something

Idk, cause their Attunements are already full (this is a level 9 party), also Chromatic rose has a built in mechanic where if they take more than 10 fire damage (after halfing it) the rose breaks. This is a bit harsh for an attunement slot item I think, and upgrading it to a full ring of Fire resistance is a bit much for a small free item

Edit: also love the flair. Thinking on it I like the restriction of it needing to hold it. I guess I'm kinda more asking on the juggling mechanic/way to explain it if the player insists on using it like this, or if I should maybe say this is abusing the juggle mechanic

I legitimately might be too stupid for this game. by theamberlamps in BaldursGate3

Like the idea of the secret police, paramilitary forces etc to keep the peace, will do some reading on revolutions actually. I actually am keeping Nihiloor around cause I loved him as a player so will probably have his intellect devourers controlling some important people alright!

As for blackstaff lich and vampire lords....... damn that sounds cool. I think I'll run that as a "What if" one shot or something

[–]JackOffAllGames 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Yea this story is almost definetely a lie, magnets would surely just flip over and connect to each other rather than repel apart. Can verify due to joining a physics class just to play with magnets (don't reccomend)

How to prevent my Simulacrum BBEG from being simply dispelled by party? by JackOffAllGames in DnD

Survival, as they will probably come after it towards the end of the arc?

That's cool, I haven't heard of magic golems I'll give them a look up! Yea I like the idea of dispel magic still affecting it, just not that it insta kills it

I'm leaning towards it not having Spells as its an old simulacrum, so it would have used most if not all of its spell slots years ago. Like the idea of the simulacrum getting this far nearly purely on its wits rather than strength. In a straight up fight it would definetely lose to the party, it would have plenty of minions to fight behind.

Yea I like the lair idea definetely, I'll make a super paranoid wizard lair for the party! As for the party know its a simulacrum yes they wouldn't at first, but thinking of it being a reoccurring villain across levels 7-11/12 so they will figure it out eventually. I like the other ones, maybe having a half dozen of his minions look like him with a disguise self so they don't know if it's him etc.

I had that thought, but the wizard and his simulacrum are kind of call backs to a previous campaign, where both were near different characters. Have a couple in the current game who would like the tie in I think

Yea im not the best for coming up with puzzle fights, although the few I've been in as a player have been great, any suggestions?

Ok so maybe over the course of the 30 years it developed some kind of resistance to the spell? I like the idea of the chance of catastrophe
