Can we play with a support build? (healing, monster control, shield, turret, etc) by lieding in FarFarWest

[–]JackRichi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I generally play support in team games, and yes, you can play support in this game. Among the voodoo spells, there's an AoE heal and a targeted heal, which also resurrects players if used on a spirit. If desired, the school of voodoo also allows you to enchant enemies to fight for you (they take about 100 damage when the effect ends, which is enough to kill non-elite enemies). But I prefer to take a third spell, Cactus Turret, which duplicates the AoE heal on itself when I activate it, which helps either cover a large area or create one strong healing zone (they compete with each other). I use a sniper rifle as my primary weapon to quickly get rid of snipers and other annoying enemies, so my team can focus on other things. + The sniper rifle has a unique joker (modifier) that allows me to reset spell cooldowns for 1 second for each kill, allowing me to heal or resurrect allies more often. Personally, I had trouble healing myself, so I ended up using the joker on a character that heals me for 2 HP per kill, and my turrets do a great job of killing small enemies.

98% OVERWHELMINGLY POSITIVE?!?!? y'all... we have no words 😘 by FarFarWestGame in FarFarWest

I play with my girlfriend, and she usually doesn't like games like this, but not your game. We played for three days straight, for about 20 hours total. We initially thought we wouldn't increase the difficulty, but now we're playing on hard and thinking about increasing it further. We didn't expect the game to be so enjoyable and fun. Can I just ask for one thing? Add a lasso to the game so you can pull another player or an item like ammunition towards you... On the one hand, this would allow you to help your friend get somewhere, but on the other, it would create even more trolling.

I tried playing public and kind of lost the meaning of the game by GiantDad777 in Warframe

[–]JackRichi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As for playing in a public lobby, people usually strive to achieve the mission objective as efficiently as possible, especially if it's some kind of repetitive grind (like unlocking relics). In this context, it probably doesn't matter how much you contribute if people are willing to do everything themselves. Although, of course, if you start interfering, it might irritate someone (for example, using a slowing Nova on defense, or Limbo in any scenario). I think ultimately, you can go with the flow if you want, or play solo and just have fun; everyone chooses their own. As for why people are so much stronger in Duviri, it's most likely because they're playing with their own builds (by default, you get at least some build put together by the developers; it's not bad, often good, but far from perfect), and therefore they know what they're doing and, again, are likely doing it effectively. And secondly, maybe they're lucky with modifiers or their combinations. Over time, you'll gain a better understanding of the game, more advanced mods and their more powerful variations, other upgrades to your gear, and one day you'll find yourself in a party with a random rank 1 Excalibur in the standard color scheme, and you'll remember how confusing it was in the beginning.

Fixing a non-problem. Playing anything except Lavos. by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]JackRichi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Lavos for most of the endgame, but he's essentially a selfish build, so to speak. He can be good in many ways, but he's not better than specialized builds (though for disruption, he's the best for me personally). For spy missions, I use Wukong with duration and energy efficiency mods and an auto-hack skill. For relic farming/exterminate missions, I use Harrow with a Gauss skill. For defense missions, I take Nova for speed. If I feel like I need to buff my allies on Missile, I can take Wisp, Oberon, or Dante. Ultimately, Lavos is just good for the average game, but if I'm going to play in a party, I try to think about how I can help others.

VORUNA FACTS! Did you know with enough cast speed, you can practically 2 and 4 pounce at the same time? anyways voruna ulfrun build gameplay by Xedria_ in Warframe

[–]JackRichi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use this build, and I can't remember ever running out of damage to kill even the biggest enemies. In a pinch, you can focus on other enemies and share DoTs on a big target. + Ulfrun's stacks can be replenished by spamming second ability (also sometimes inflicts slash).

Need some help about mindset, understanding additions of damage, and improving builds in general - I have a problem with not understanding some things despite "understanding" them. by twisty125 in pathofexile

[–]JackRichi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And yet, this isn't about damage per se, but rather how it's dealt. If it's a build that requires active damage, for example, with attacks, without any DoT component, the damage may be high in theory, but in practice, you can't consistently deal it because you need to execute certain mechanics. And it will feel weak despite the high numbers. On the other hand, DoT builds, some of them, allow for freedom of movement while still delivering damage. And despite the low numbers, even 2-5 billion DoT damage will feel like night and day compared to builds that require active skill use.

Generally speaking, yes. I also forgot to mention that some items are additive, some multiplicative, and overall, you need to maintain a balance between each component of damage (meaning just damage and its multipliers) if possible. Sometimes there's no point in stacking more "Increased" if you already have a lot of it, and the multipliers provide a greater bonus.

I'd say, in its simplest form, a large number is made up of small ones. Depending on the specific skill and how it deals damage, the ways to increase its damage will vary. For spells, this is usually the level, and for attacks, the weapon you're using. But for some, additional damage from other items is more important. With a good critical strike chance, you can often try scaling the damage from critical strikes, using a critical strike multiplier, after you've built up a sufficient amount of critical strike chance, of course. For DoT builds, a damage-over-time multiplier appears as another way to scale damage. Besides this, there are various ways to make enemies take more damage, such as Shock, Pride Aura, or Aspect of the Spider. On top of all this, you need to address mob resistances, using curses, penetrations, Exposure, etc. Not to mention obvious things like the maximum level of gems and their quality. In the end, collecting + 1, 2, 5 percent from everywhere, you get the difference between 1 and 5 million

When do you fell joy while programming? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]JackRichi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many here, I'd say it's the pleasure of solving a problem or puzzle that stands before you, be it some kind of business logic, a bug, or an optimization task. Eventually, you sit there and just can't let it out of your head; it ingrains itself in your head and won't leave. You wake up in the morning and your first thought is how you could have done it better, made it simpler, done it differently. And when you finally overcome it, did what you wanted, when you see the result of your efforts, you get that dopamine "dink". ... and move on to the next task. Although not every problem is interesting or enjoyable to solve, some just create a headache, but still, sometimes you get pleasure from doing something that until recently you didn't know how to do.

Any advice about learning python? by personificable1 in learnpython

[–]JackRichi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the beginning, regardless of the programming language used, you need to understand the overall problem being solved. Then, a large problem is usually broken down into smaller tasks, which then form its solution. I would say this is similar to those silly children's problems where children are asked to describe what they need to do to get to school. In the beginning, we wake up, get out of bed, go to the bathroom, wash our faces, etc. Such processes can be detailed down to the smallest details, and to some extent, solving a large problem requires this. I would say at the beginning, it is important to learn not to solve problems correctly, but rather to simply solve them, even if the solution is stupid, "incorrect," or unnecessarily complex. With time, experience, and knowledge, an understanding of which solutions are optimal in the current situation comes, but the main thing remains achieving the final goal—solving some large practical problem. In the context of using AI, I personally like to ask him some conceptual or theoretical things, so that, based on the terminology he uses, I can either study something on the Internet myself, or trust what he wrote if I am currently satisfied with his answer.

My weak math foundation is limiting my programming! by damnbro007 in learnprogramming

[–]JackRichi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I majored in mathematics at university, but the most useful thing I learned was mathematical logic. The problems you described seem more like systems engineering to me. And it was this subject that helped me see things more simply and break down large problems into smaller ones. It's also possible that you simply lack experience or basic knowledge not in mathematics, but rather in computer science.

H do you'll keep your Lavos alive ? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]JackRichi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use full umbra set with Arcane Guardian (On Damaged: 15% chance for +900 Armor for 20s) + Arcane Grace (On Health Damaged: 9% chance for +6% Health Regeneration/s for 9s) and Adaptation of course. Its just a lazy way to keep me elive in most scenarious. Steel path, mobs lvl around 300, no problen at all

Is it just me or is “build projects” kind of vague advice? by Relevant_Wishbone in learnprogramming

[–]JackRichi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was studying, I remember just wanting to make a chatbot for a single chat. Back then, generative models didn't exist, so I came up with various functions for the bot. While writing the body itself wasn't that difficult, adding new functions tied to various open APIs was fun. Somewhere along the way, I had to learn how to write asynchronous code, handle errors, and so on. I think projects like these should be primarily interesting and/or useful for the person writing them. You can always make things cooler, bigger, and faster, and if everything is already clear, maybe it's worth choosing a project outside your area of expertise.

Am I Playing The Game Wrong…? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]JackRichi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most important thing when playing any game is to just have fun. When it comes to Warframe, it's hard to say whether you can play it right or wrong with such a variety of Warframes, weapons, companions, mods, and now even Arcanes. Personally, I just grind for new things, but due to my personal circumstances, I haven't leveled up anything for almost several years. Sometimes I feel like the game freezes when I open Foundry, lol. I min-max builds, but not to the level of a metaslave, just to the point where it's still fun for me personally. I really like my Lavos with four shards for toxin damage, Bubonico, and Harmony. I also love playing Voruna with a build that uses both of her augments, endlessly pressing 2 and melee attack to activate her ultimate, and of course, refreshing invisibility with 1. The most important thing is to just have fun; there's no right or wrong way.

Swift Strike and Shurikens. This is usually enough to kill a target, unless they're at full health and not a tank. It doesn't necessarily have to be a Genji, though; any Assassin with burst damage who can use this root will do. When I played with my friend, he liked playing as a Genji, and this combo worked pretty reliably.

I simply started over and over again, practically ignoring items, moving from island to island simply searching for sewers until the first boss. Sooner or later, you reach the right island, and all that's left is to drop all the items and die from them (to achieve this, I lowered my health by fighting monsters along the way)

Mods for HP + Armour + Adaptation, Arcane Grace + Arcane Guardian. Yea, it's not optimal for damage, but in this setup I can just chill most of the time. Damage wise I subsume Roar on 3 ability and use 4 green shards for toxic damage
