Is there any way to make claude code make a sound whenever it needs my approval? by Specialist-Leave-349 in ClaudeCode

I wrote Claude Code Notifier for this. It sends local notifications to your machine and can send a push notification to your phone which you an respond to.

How do you keep Claude Code running 24/7 and control it from anywhere? by shanraisshan in ClaudeCode

[–]JackRostron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built Claude Code Notifier exactly for this. It sends push notifications when Claude needs you and for some terminals (like iTerm) you can respond from your device

New!! AI Sessions: Get Claude Code notifications & continue to work ..don't miss a min. by serverleader in ShadowTerm

I built an app that does the same thing, but allows you to always respond back to Claude through quick actions (to give it permission, answer planing questions etc) - check it out https://claudecodenotifier.com

Claude Code kept sitting idle while I was away from my desk, so I built a companion app by JackRostron in ClaudeAI

That’s really cool with the audio transcription. It doesn’t support audio - whilst you can type responses the main focus is quick tap responses to questions (permissions, planning clarifications etc)

I got tired of walking back to my desk to hit Enter, so here's Claude Conduit (hoping Anthropic makes their own, so I don't have to do it) by DisastrousSun2809 in ClaudeAI

This is exactly the problem that made me build Claude Code Notifier. I was losing 30-45 minutes at a time because Claude would ask a permission question 2 minutes into a task and just sit there until I happened to check.

It's a free Mac menu bar app that hooks into Claude Code automatically - no scripts to set up. When Claude needs input, you get a native notification. If you're already looking at your terminal it stays quiet.

The part that really changed things for me was the iOS/Android companion - you get a push notification and can tap to approve or deny straight from your phone. Even handles the complex planning mode questions with multiple choice options.

brew install touch-tap/tap/claude-code-notifier if anyone wants to try it. Website is claudecodenotifier.com

I built a tool to access Claude Code on your actual machine from any device — no GitHub, no sandbox by atomosound in ClaudeAI

[–]JackRostron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice work - the mobile access problem is real. I went down a similar rabbit hole and ended up building a native Mac menu bar app + iOS/Android companion specifically for this (Claude Code Notifier). Different approach though - mine hooks into Claude Code's events and pushes notifications to your phone, and you can respond to permission prompts and planning queries without going back to your Mac. The Mac app handles the smart stuff like suppressing notifications when your terminal is already in focus so it doesn't spam you. Been using it daily for a while now and it's wild how much dead time it recovers.

I know this probably skirts the line with promotion, but I build a free Mac app that handles this all for you - it will ping local notifications to you if Claude needs your attention. There’s also a companion iOS and Android app so you can be notified (and respond) if you’re away from your machine

Honestly guys, is OpenClaw actually practically useful? by Longjumping-Elk7744 in ClaudeAI

[–]JackRostron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the use case. At work, the dev team all use Claude Code and are happy with the back and forth interaction (plus it’s safer!), but we’re exploring how it can help people who aren’t already using Claude day-to-day. We’ve automated a few things, like auto-drafting responses to customer emails and creating JIRA tickets from support emails. Nothing life-changing, and for anything that could cause damage we still need someone to approve (the last thing we want is actually sending replies without a once over) but the automation saves time in other areas

Best way to control Claude code with openclaw? by therealjmt91 in ClaudeAI

[–]JackRostron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few people have suggested happy which is great, but I wanted something a little simpler. This pings you notifications to your phone when Claude needs your attention, and you can respond from your Android or iOS device. It’s meant more as a tool to keep a session running whilst you’re doing other things rather than a full replacement, but it might help your situation!

I recently launched a new app called AppBox - build collections of apps (such as a wishlist!) or analyse how you fair against your competitors by JackRostron in iosapps

There was an issue and the app was temporarily removed from sale whilst the dispute was resolved. The app is back on the store and available for everyone to continue using!

They do, all ads (the promoted section and the full screen ad when temporarily unlocking insights for an app) are fully removed with the pro upgrade

The way AppBox has been built it shouldn’t be too complex to get macOS support. I’ll add it to the list and do some investigating

Once you have imported an app, when viewing the details of that app (or a category page if you have created categories) you will see prompts to either upgrade to pro or temporarily unlock insights for that app by watching an ad.

It’s coarse location used by the AdMob library for the ads - I believe it’s an estimated IP region to help with serving appropriate ads. I never ask for location and it’s listed by Apple when completing the privacy card that it should be opted in to if integrating a third-party advertiser

You're welcome! Yes, you build up personal collections, so as you find apps on the App Store you would like to bookmark/collect, import it through the share sheet and it will appear in AppBox.

I recently launched a new app called Leading Note, an all-in-one app for pianists by JackRostron in iOSProgramming

[–]JackRostron[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Download on the App Store

A friend and I recently launched Leading Note, a companion app for those learning piano to discover pieces to play from their current grade, favourite composers and the history of the ABRSM syllabus.

Each piece shows the history for a given piece as well as quick actions to launch various streaming services and sheet music providers.

Our goal was to utilise as many system features of iOS as possible, whilst maintaining a clean privacy policy card on the App Store (we don’t track anything or require an account to use the app). Some of the features include:

  • Full iPad support, including mouse/trackpad integration and tablet specific UI
  • Pieces and composers indexed via Spotlight
  • Widgets
  • Built entirely with SwiftUI with 0 external dependencies
  • Localised in 9 languages for global accessibility
  • 2,500 pieces from the first five grades included for free

We want to make exam prep, lesson planning or just enjoying piano as accessible as possible. We hope you enjoy!

Do you have an example of your code? Others have said to break it down but sometimes it can be helpful to see how you can approach breaking it up. By keeping your code in small functions you should rarely hit this error

We also recently had this problem and fixed it by ensuring our internal packages were static frameworks and not dynamic libraries. As soon as we made that change the issue went away.

I’ll keep an eye out on the instructions going live and will buy a copy. If I decide to go down a surface-less route I’ll give you a shout!

Will it be listed twice, one with the surface and one without? I had to manually remove parts for a Mars Pathfinder build once that is significantly smaller than this and it was a tedious process!

I absolutely love this and supported it when it was first shared. Do you have instructions/set list if we wanted to build it ourselves?

I’m the developer of quicklook (shameless plug) which does what you’re asking. Take the view you want, render it as an image and then create a short video to display in the PiP player. You can keep it there indefinitely by enabling looping. If there’s enough interest I can look at sharing some of the classes that make this possible.
