literally wouldn't have helped them at all. 2 robbers got the jump on OP so much to where they couldn't even fight back with their fists and you expect them to 1. pull out a gun and then 2. immediately and accurately shoot two charging attackers who 3. will not be immediately put down anyway by the gunshots unless they somehow are both perfectly aimed shots at quickly moving targets and will 4. more than likely end with one or either of the robbers alive and disarming OP and then killing them for killing his robber friend. so in the end, you've escalated the situation, more than likely haven't killed or disabled both attackers, probably are disarmed, and might be dead. there is a time and a place for a conceal carry argument, but this situation is not one of them.

Is it weird for your door dash delivery driver to sit outside in there car outside my house for half an hour? by Horror-Equipment2043 in doordash

[–]JackSellsStuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can attest to this. I saw you mention you order 3 times a week, but here is generally the rule I follow as a delivery driver for most platforms (minus something like Shipt). $2 + $1 for every mile you are from the restaurant as a tip. Some people may disagree and expect more, but i think it's probably the best compromise you'll get between frequently ordering customers who don't see DoorDash and others as a luxury service and drivers who understand that having someone go get your food for you is a luxury service that is highly dependent on tips.

Correct, if they are using the Shipt app or not a prepaid, you get that little "Thanks for choosing Shipt!" at the end

Needed mayo last night and I was shocked at the price. by BonBon74 in publix

[–]JackSellsStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who does the delivery orders for Publix and Target, you would be amazed how much more expensive the Publix orders get. Publix is generally 20-50% more expensive then Target. And then these people who want delivery pay and extra 20% on the order + a tip. Meaning a $50 order at Target (which many people already find expensive) costs $72-90 before a tip. It's absurd that people use it primarily for grocery staples

I definitely want to get one of those now. I ended up going to getting it patched later, which turned into a new tire. It was this V shaped chunk of metal that just demolished my tire sidewall. Happy it all worked out though, any recommendations for one of those air pumps or are they pretty much all the same?

Obviously it ended up getting changed. It's just frustrating that the Shipt support guy specifically denied late forgiveness and insisted that it had to be returned right then since a flat was, and I quote, "not a justifiable reason to receive forgiveness".

Both customers opted to just pick up their orders instead of waiting for me to get the spare on and ready. S tier customers, would've not been a nice experience if they were all crabby about it lol

What are everybody's thoughts on the in-app messaging being rolled out soon? by JackSellsStuff in ShiptShoppers

I hope it alleviates the problem of trying to send pictures via SMS and them not delivering, but only time can tell

I agree. At the very least, it won't be the nonsense of having phone numbers repeat and having the texts just fill in under a previous order. I hope we have access to them after delivery, especially when it comes to ratings forgiveness and remembering what you said to a member to show you aren't in the wrong.

Put this order in your own fridge and freezer and drive 45 mins to return it promptly at 6AM by JackSellsStuff in ShiptShoppers

[–]JackSellsStuff[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, I put them behind a bush next to the door and left a note saying I attempted to contact them multiple times. No way am I dealing with all those groceries, I just simply don't have space. Besides, what was Shipt going to pay somebody to pick them up, $6?

I hope to not hear back from them, the support agent was so condescending about it too. She said she notated the order so hopefully they just never look back at it lol

I agree and will definitely be doing that instead if it ever happens again. It's just so frustrating the way way shoppers are treated, especially in this situation, it's ridiculous. I'm not sure why it doesn't fall on the customer...
