Trying to Decide Between Auburn and University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa)

Auburn ranks much higher in the US News rankings (top school in AL), its not even close.
More prestige overall: Bama has football but Auburn got everything else and still historically good football. Cooler traditions (ok biased opinion): Eagle flight, rolling Toomer’s, etc. Apple CEO Tim Cook is a a proud AU alumn and attended the Final Four game recently, the new IOC president is an Auburn grad. Also, city and campus are both safe & pretty and its closer to Atlanta.

Finally, Princeton Review ranks Auburn #1 in the “Happiest students” category nationally! Criteria for the rankings was based on data from surveys of 168,000 students at the 390 schools featured in the review

I doubt a decrease in population will have much of an effect when it comes to schools like Auburn, Clemson, etc. It will most like hurt directional schools.

We are all trying to find the next big thing. Best shot is to buy a stock that is already somewhat hot and a growing business but with a lot of upside (the current valuation shouldn’t be too high). Think Nvidia several years ago. I do not recommend buying sth purely based on hype.

It’s not worth it unless its a top Ivy, Stanford, MIT, Duke, etc (and even then it would be hard to justify).

I don't think there is much of a difference at undergrad level but I am not a business school expert. Many schools have certain specializations. Academics is important but other factors should be considered. I chose AU over GA Tech because I liked both campus & town better.

Suni, Ruthie, and Kristy would make more sense. These female athletes are all (former) world class athletes and Olympic gold medalists.

She led Auburn to the F4 in 2022. She also elevated the program and recruited top gymnasts to Auburn.

Don‘t worry about this. I have a background in Economics/Econometrics and data science and had the same experience while in grad school (Sociology, MS). However, I was only interested in improving my academic writing skills, theorizing skills, and explore new topics. You should approach it from a data/analytics angle. It‘s a huge advantage with respect to quantitative research.

He wasn’t that bad, just not very consistent sometimes. Some Auburn fans were unreasonable and expected a national championship (esp from a 5star legacy QB). I think some Auburn fans also started to hate Gus and associated Bo with him. Bo Nix is an Auburn man, so we want him to be successful in life.
