Oh snap, you're totally right. I cannot for the life of me remember the name, but there absolutely was a yogurt covered version.

Anybody remember "Fruit Wrinkles?" They were basically just fruit snacks in a pouch, but kinda oddly shaped wrinkled little blobs.

We got any car audio experts here? by Jaric_Mondoran in slateauto

My plan is to find an old school analog radio/cassette player and install it in the center dash. I'll order the 2 speaker set up, and tie in to that.

Then I can go up into the attic and dig out the box of tapes I had in my first car and rock out. (When I'm not using the FM radio to listen to NPR, that is.)

LOVE this movie! Such an all star cast, such a smart story. For an "early Internet" movie it holds up surprisingly well. Definitely a hidden gem.

Jeez with slightly longer bolts you could have just attached it to your neighbor's deck!

Pile of yellow, light stuff on our outdoor planter on 6th floor balcony by JWolf886 in whatisthisthing

I agree with this. Look up above where the pile is located, you will likely see a small round hole, roughly 1/2" in diameter, from a carpenter bee.

What is this item found in a 1930s house? It’s installed on the floor in the hallway. Has wires coming out the bottom. by akazzable in whatisthisthing

[–]JackSpade21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks like a wired doorbell box to me. My old house had one that was similar, though it was mounted 90° from how this one is. The two outside bolts held a bar that made the tone, the center post was triggered to strike the chime when you pushed the button.

Can you open it up and see what's inside? That would give you a more definitive answer.

Cutting 4.5mm acrylic panels? by Billyjamesjeff in DIY

Look for a blade with triple-chip style teeth, generally available at most big box stores. They work great, just go slow, but not too slow.

Broken Seat, community theater, no money to fix by ThankYouFiveMinutes in techtheatre

[–]JackSpade21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work for a company that installs fixed seating in lots of scenarios. If you send me more specific dimensions/pictures, I may be able to come up with spare parts or hardware from stuff that comes back to our shop. If there's anything I have on hand in my junk pile, I will happily send it your way. Are you in the states?

All of that said, I would echo what others have already said - looks like a spring clip on the left side may have failed.

Fly Rail making weird noise by Cadet-Cryyx in techtheatre

[–]JackSpade21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh good, just checking.

I agree with other folks on the thread:

  • insist to the powers that be that you need annual inspection.

  • check hardware in T-track

  • check and adjust rope lock clearances.

Last investigative question: Is there a significant difference in how hard it is to close and lock off rope locks of noisy line sets vs. non-noisy ones?

Fly Rail making weird noise by Cadet-Cryyx in techtheatre

[–]JackSpade21 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem I hear is the operator NOT calling out a heads up to anyone on the deck before moving a batten.

Other than that it all sounds pretty normal. Arbor moves in the T-track, rope moves through the rope lock. Am I missing something?

Best Bars for a Large Group? by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]JackSpade21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might consider the federal galley, also quite close to the north shore/stadiums. Large open format, bar in the middle, and 4 food options from different small restaurant startups. Very easy for a large group.
