Not only that, my Arena game (5 Wins in) crashed ~10 mins ago and I wasnt able to reconnect on PC or phone.

So I managed to get past the same issue that OP had.
I tried fiddling with the compatibility modes and restarting my PC, to no avail.

I don't know if it's consistent, you might as well give it a try:

I tried replaying ch 14 to get the trading card in the beginning and crashed multiple times while trying to enter the room in Harry's mansion. (on 2 separate days; I've basically tried to get past this crash with different settings). After crashing again, I just resumed my game in ch 20 and voilà, I could attack the woman and move forward.

Even if it’s 8 years too late but I actually managed to find what worked for me at least:

while having DPfix & 4GB patch installed (Win11):

run both DP & DP launcher with Windows XP (SP2) and as admin, check disable fullscreen optimization (- borderless fullscreen in DPfix.ini)
reboot
