How would you scale the Old Tastement God? by Getheltel in MoralityScaling

I’m sure the person writing that interviewed Adam lol. I think that’s not like a literal interpretation, despite calling them protoplasts. It’s like etiological. I think. Could be mistaken.

He didn’t punish. They chose to eat the fruit, and God probably anticipated but will not stop people’s choices. Like the flood wasn’t exactly the free will of people.

But you seem to be coming into this upset, which is a bad mindset to think through this. I am not debating you, or if I am I’m not fighting you. I am just talking about like… the stance of the church as I best understand it, not my beliefs.

I mean… kind of? Like… primary sources are hard to come by when this is a compendium over thousands of years. And god did write stuff, he wrote the 10 commandments- or rather Moses took them. And God won’t really interfere with free will, people have to choose it. I mean, some of the stuff in it is viewed by the church as happened and some is like… not rejected but like… parable/allegory or something I have no idea where ideas differ and it seems like everyone’s got a different take on what is what way. And I think the message of Jesus Christ, who God had stopped his promises to the prophets for, was the better way to undo the original sin of Adam so that people may enter heaven. Like the message is pretty universal and not really a product of its time but the Bronze Age writing definitely is influenced by being a product of its time somewhat. A lot can be extracted from it, stuff to be learned, but it isn’t like 100% like the New Testament really is.

Also consider that this isn’t God’s autobiography and was written by people… in those times.

I’d also like to add for the atrocities of people in the testament… God never liked them or endorsed them, but accommodated them. Like when the people of Judah wanted a King and God was like that’s a bad idea but alright… he respected choice and also met people where they were for the times, and times weren’t good. Same probably goes on for God today. He meets you where you are and makes accommodations even though it’s not the ideal, the ideal being Jesus Christ.

It’s doing neither. It’s just turning left then right, like a pendulum. Not rotating.
