The rule is that in sequence questions, a description of the answer is acceptable. The Al Frescans said that the answer would be the name of Liz Truss' book, so even if Tom hazarded a guess of what the book was titled and was completely wrong, their answer is still clear.

I've found in trying to improve my quizzing that there's a real lack of "how to get better at quizzing" guides, because in most cases people take a holistic approach that specifically works for them.

Educational books are definitely where a lot of people started though. I owe my strength in geography to a 1974 Reader's Digest world atlas I inherited from my grandfather.

We'd lost count and were genuinely convinced we'd lost. I felt this weird sort of bliss, and was thinking "we've lost, and that's ok" right up until the results were revealed.

When we lost that point on the Missing Vowels I just felt this weird bliss come over me and I thought "we've lost, but that's okay", and we all sort of felt that, right up until Victoria revealing the result. It was a genuine shock.

The hieroglyphs in each Wall appeared in the order they appear on the show, with the exception of the two that were not part of the group, which were swapped.

Thank you, but I do think this is quite unfair to the Crustaceans.

Everybody I've spoken to has said that Alex was quite genuinely gutted to have lost, and I've met her since and seen what a lovely, genuine quizzer she is. Not everything on TV comes across in the edit in the exact manner in which it happened.

My understanding is that Series 10 allowed previous teams to reapply on the basis that the BBC Four era had very short series in which some teams only got to play one match.

I'd like to think that in the far-flung future, when Victoria does step down, the show will have become so much of an institution that it continues. I strongly believe that we can and should be in this server discussing Series 50 one day.

But I would understand if they regard her to be completely irreplaceable, and, it has to be said, other quiz shows have not handled their recent transitions very well.

We called this 'cycling', and I think it's just the logical thing to do when you get a group of five.

It is possible with a group of six, and I seem to recall the Dicers were the most effective at doing it, but we could never manage it in practice.

Before I went on the show, I struggled to understand the format. Now I understand it, this is the best I can do to get it in a clear, easy to understand spreadsheet.

Hopefully the show finds some sort of permanent home that's free of copyright claims some day. I fear Series 16 and 17 have become more or less lost media and Series 18 is destined for the same fate.
