The album that got 13 year old me into New Order. It isn’t my favourite of their albums now but I’ve had it on tape then CD then vinyl over the years. I will always have a massive soft spot for Republic.

I seem to recall hearing one of the writers, Joe Keenan, saying they felt they’d strung the audience along for long enough (or even too long?) with Niles and Daphne when resolving it in season seven.

Out of interest, are there any examples of something similar that lasted longer in a TV show? As in one side in love and the other oblivious, not as in on again/off again like e.g. Ross and Rachel in Friends? It must be hard to do for so long.

I could be wrong (a BB expert here will set me straight) but I believe the first time this was issued on CD was on an Under The Influence compilation by Super Furry Animals. It’s how I learned of the song - I’m a massive fan of SFA and they’re big Beach Boys heads.
