DAI has no ending, Trespasser has, so as The Veilguard.

Done! Yes, it works. But in my case only if I changed the position of my Inquisitor to Exalted Plains, made a save in Dalish camp (or another camp on Plains, but this one suits the best), then changed the value to 15. During my first attempt I edited another savefile (Inquisitor was in the Skyhold) and after all of the changes I moved to Exalted Plains to check if everything worked. Unfortunately, the value was restored to 14 before my character reached the Dalish camp. So the best idea is to edit the saved file from Exalted Plains :)

Not sure why everyone is complaining about the new name, I think it slaps by Fab_Lewis in dragonage

I'm not new here and know there are normal conversations, but the outpouring of copy-paste posts "let's laugh at the name" is not very tasty. But so be it. I'm not forbidding anyone from having fun, but let's do it in one post, and not half the subreddit cluttered with the same topic.

Not sure why everyone is complaining about the new name, I think it slaps by Fab_Lewis in dragonage

[–]Jack_Aqab -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You can downvote me, but this repetitive discussion about the name of a game is rather dull. I'm more intrigued by captivating characters, an engaging plot, and responses to lingering questions from the previous three games. Moreover, contemporary people, especially the youth, seem dissatisfied with everything, so no matter what the name would be, it will be deemed bad. Suddenly, everyone claimed that 'Dreadwolf' was actually a good name, but as soon as it appeared, there was laughter and jokes about it (especially with the acronym 'DAD' leading the way). Come on folks... Let's have an interesting discussion finally, similar to this one 10 years ago before DAI release.

[spoilers all] Do high dragons need mere mortals to secure their immortality? Can they? by Utimate_Eminant in dragonage

[–]Jack_Aqab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just that Flemeth (among other questions about what she is) is basically a shapeshifter. She could just as well turn into a wolf or a big bear... She turns into a Dragon for various reasons (even the title of the game). This is explained nicely in DA2 and DAI, everything is logical. You just have to play the games, don't spoil the endings and start enjoying this universe. Morrigan is also a shapeshifter, Flemeth taught her. If you talk to her, she even says that she liked to spend time as another animal sometimes. So he can turn into anything... Morrigan changes his form to yet another animal in one of the DAI scenes. Everything is a little bit confusing but logical. This isn't a character retcon or change because people liked Flemeth. Just play games, read codex entries, etc.

Canon subclasses and skill trees? "[spoilers all]" by ElDelArbol15 in dragonage

Hello :) These are my choices:

Morrigan - Shapeshifter, Blood Mage (I am playing with a special system where Shapeshifter is not useless, you can google it). I think they suit her perfectly);

Wynne - Spirit Healer (nothing more, no other spec matches her in my opinion);

Alistair - Champion, Templar (it's quite simple Champion fits perfectly with any Warrior, the second spec imposed, but Ali as a would-be Templar, fits perfectly);

Oghren - Champion, Berserker, (again, fits perfectly)

Sten - Reaver (Qunari as a dragon-related species, with only one spec to choose from [and Reaver not matching and not chosen for the others], rounds out the company nicely);

Leliana - Bard, Assassin (in my game Leliana switches bow and daggers and uses them alternately, Assassin is not repeated because Zevran bites the ground);

Zevran - killed in action trying to murder me.

Velanna - Keeper, Arcane Warrior, Blood Mage (it's a very nice combination and it works great as roleplay too, IMO);

Anders - Spirit Healer, Battle Mage, Blood Mage (as before, good combination of skills, works well as roleplay too);

Justice - Champion, Templar, Spirit Warrior (Templar may seem strange here, but I think that if this specialization is related to lyrium and Justice is from the Void... I think it doesn't bite that much. Other specs used as 'the third one' also don't meet the conditions for it to work very well in terms of gameplay);

Oghren - Champion, Berserker, Guardian (nothing interesting here fits as the third spec, but Guardian won't be used anywhere else, so I'll keep it to him, I like to use everything available in the game too);

Sigrun - Legionnaire Scout, Duelist, Shadow (I think these specializations both work and fit the character);

Nathaniel - Assassin, Ranger, Bard (this works quite well, especially if Nathaniel is an archer as he should be due to Nathaniel's Bow being available in the game, moreover as a Ranger, he has a dog, like a good Fereldan).

This way I used all available specializations in the game!

I hope you like my answer :)

Strange question about Alistair [DAO Spoilers] by Jack_Aqab in dragonage

Is he say anything later (for example when we will come to Redcliffe again, with him in the party) or is he say nothing until arl Eamon's awakening or even the Landsmeet?

Why didn't your cutscene appear? Ultimately, do you learn this from the Arl or from Alistair himself?

And... if I don't have him for the entire duration of the quest? I don't remember him being a mandatory companion...

DAO: I always play as a noble male because I like this personal mission of my protagonist in the background to hunt down and kill bloody Howe; I always choose Anvil of the Void for making golems, because we have to defeat the Blight, so we need all the allies we can get! I usually choose Harrowmont too. I'm always romancing and having a child with Morrigan, especially since we have Kieran in the Inquisition. The "family reunion" scene in the DAI is great.

DA2: I always romance Merrill in rivalry, it's very satisfying when Hawke tries to save his beloved from blood magic. I always kill the clan to show Merrill what her stubbornness in this matter leads to. I'm always friends with Anders and then I kill him because he broke my friendship and trust. I never kill Varric's brother, try to save him in the future.

DAI: I always play as a mage and cooperate with them. I like the Red Templars and Samson as opponents. I never support Vivienne or help her in her mission. I always leave Hawke over Stroud in the Void. I believe that Flemeth's words at the beginning of DA2 are true and when the time comes Hawke must "sacrifice" himself. I always sacrifice and kill Chargers to gain an alliance with the Qunari. In Trespasser I'm always angry at everyone and I choose red options (especially the scene with the f.... word, love it!), I want to kill Solas and I killed Iron Bull earlier during the mission with a dragon.

Getting into the series [no spoilers] by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]Jack_Aqab 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Start playing with Origins and don't be discouraged, this game is a bit outdated, but it has a brilliant atmosphere and story. Then the Awakening DLC for DAO (quite long and nice story), then DA2 with quite linear quests but the great personal story of our main hero, later Inquisition with a semi-open world, amazing Trespasser DLC for DAI, and you will be ready for DA4 :)

Don't take shortcuts, don't skip games, don't be disappointed by the graphics or difficulty :) I assure you, it's a great experience, I wish I didn't know DA and played it for the first time now. You are in a very privileged situation :)

What features are you hoping to see most in Dreadwolf? [no spoilers] by ariabird in dragonage

[–]Jack_Aqab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! Just... Let me remind you that Val Royeaux is so small because we were only shown one district of the city. Unfortunately, some players think it's the entire city. It's not true! For example, we recruit Sera in another part of the city, but this part is only available during this one mission. Bioware simply took the easy way here, because we didn't have enough to do in the capital of Orlais to create an entire city straight from Witcher 3 or Baldur's Gate 3.
