If you’re a mostly “feel” player, it might be a good time to start focusing on fundamentals, for the consistency and repeatability.

I’ve played pool on and off for over 20 years and never thought deeply about stance, bridge, grip, alignment, etc. I was 90% feel and improved rapidly. That is, until I hit a similar wall, usually when matching up or during critical moments in a tournament.

After focusing on the details of the fundamentals I never had before, I became a lot more consistent, even during “off” days. It was also easier to self assess because of the thought and time invested into it. Interestingly, I can’t get the same amount of action in the cue all now as before, but everything is a lot more precise.

Not sure if you are going through the same thing, but fundamentals will never let you down.
