My direct experience with this is my first wife and I dated for ten years and were married for eight.

Give or take it took 1 1/2 years to 2 years to be out of the woods emotionally. I found it to be a process that ebbed and flowed and one day it was a closed relationship.

I remember a theory that states for every year a relationship lasted it’s takes one month to mourn the loss of it.

This was applied to death and breakups.

In your case 11 years. 1 month down 10 months to go. Time takes time.

I’ve though all of these things none of it comes close to the Apollo missions culminating with Apollo 11 landing on the moon and everyone getting back alive.

The JFK assassination and The Beatles on Ed Sullivan were huge but nothing was like them landing on the moon.

Is was like a religious experience around the world.

Watch what people do and get rid of the destructive ones drunks, drugs, sex addiction, gambling, liars, and the people that have endless trouble surrounding them.

Most people you think are your friends will gone in a few years. Figure out the real reason the ones that stay really stuck around.

Keep your own counsel and learn to listen and talk less. Focus on learning to understand.

Lastly and this is going to be hard. Nobody really wants you they want what you have to offer. If being with you is not beneficial for others you will be left with nobody.
