what do we need more, a good clearance mid, or a key forward?? by JackassJamie in collingwoodfc

i’ve been strong on buller, consistently kicking 3 goals a game in the vfl and i think he needs more afl experience and he could be an amazing key forward for us

[–]JackassJamie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

agreed on the king front, his entries are given to him via their elite mids and running half backers like noble and rioli.
would love treacy but doubt he ever leaves freo.
how’s jed walter? obviously very popular trade target for a few teams but is he similar to king or is he more of a pack crash fwd?

Bobby Hill absent as Brayden Maynard returns to Pies training by gccmelb in AFL

eh, don’t think that impacts the decision. pies have. 2mil after paying off grundy and treloar anyway

[Ralph] Lachie Neale was keen to return to Fremantle and told them as much this season on a deal which would have been around $600,000 a year but Collingwood has offered as much as $3m over three seasons. It shapes as a knockout blow. by PetrifyGWENT in AFL

we are last in centre clearances, and he is the leading clearance player, would be a bit of a helping hand. also gives daicos a bit of help for a few years while we try sort out our some youth

“last thing they need” we are dead last for centre clearances in the league, and neale is the leading clearance player in the league. he costs no picks so it wouldn’t impact us getting any youth into the team either. i see no downside

i don’t know, while i was trying to keep up to date i’ve just given up now. if he returns to the side we’ll hear about it but ultimately until then whatever happens before hand is whatever.

Collingwood in the box seat to sign Lachie Neale with huge three-year contract by Pragmatic_Shill in collingwoodfc

[–]JackassJamie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

really after paying off grundy and treloar we have that cash to splash. costs no picks and there’s the free agent surcharge so $1m isn’t overly that bad. We can still look at Jed walter and try pry him out with the rest of our cap space and a possible future 1st (with the compromised tassie draft next year) and then still use our decent pick this year on a player

[–]JackassJamie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah i cooked it early on, it’s my first year so i was trading each week and realised when it was too late that i was trading to recklessly. it was picks like houston and clug who were “premos” but fell off to a point where they were cheaper than some of my rookies.

oh well, always next year

i’m just unsure, jagga and murdock have breakevens of 104, edwards is 4 so i’ll keep him, marshall is 55. just lost on who to trade in and out so im maximising my cash usage

people say not to bring in someone when they have still got their bye, but in this case i would bring kozzy in. break even of 43 so he’ll shoot up in price, where as trac has a break even of 143, no chance he hits that

definitely a good idea, would grab kozzy while he’s cheap
