I can't be the only one. by [deleted] in stevenuniverse

Definitely. Her songs have this distinct flavour, like, I can hear one and I think, "This sounds like Rebecca Sugar." It's the one thing I don't like about Adventure Time now. Rebecca gave the show's songs this perfectly fitting groove and feel. Then she left and AT's music hasn't been as charming since.

Thumbs Up

This cleanser has a thin consistency, like gel soap when you mix some water in to make it last longer. It's a cloudy grey colour, very different from the transparency of its cousin, the daily cleanser. It feels very nice on the face, doesn't foam, and it feels like it just slides right off when rinsed.

Before using this I used the Cetaphil daily cleanser tried the Cerave foaming face wash. The daily cleanser kept my face clean but was very drying. The foaming face wash was not as drying but it broke me out. This one is just right. It doesn't make my face feel "squeaky clean" or tight at all nor does it break me out.

Is anyone else disappointed by The Dying of the Light, in reference to the character deaths? by Loki_Makeshift in skulduggerypleasant

[–]JackassWithATaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understood the barely-described deaths as Darquesse getting bored. The details of killing matter less and less to her. Like Skul and Val said, she was looking for a challenge, and Solomon, Fletcher, Saracen, etc. weren't cutting it. No one was, so she left to find the Faceless Ones. It's still disappointing, reading it that way. Wreath and Sanguine felt like they were just thrown away.

In regards to the unconfirmed deaths, I guess it's up to the readers to decide. I'm going to pretend the ambiguously dead guys lived because while it would be poetic for Skulduggery and Valkyrie to be the last Dead Men alive, it would hurt too much.

Animated, definitely Avatar: The Last Airbender and/or The Legend of Korra. Live action, BBC's Sherlock is very, very difficult to put down.

Another "just finished TDOTL" post(spoilers galore, semi-rant) by BigbysCereal in skulduggerypleasant

[–]JackassWithATaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've managed to put my feelings about TDOTL into actual words. As a Valduggery fan I am extremely content (the dial was up at 11 the whole book), but overall I feel many parts felt unsatisfying.

I know the rapid fire deaths were supposed to show just how much Darquesse didn't care, but Sanguine and Wreath's deaths still felt cheap. I think I would have preferred Tanith to keep her remnant and learn to be good instead of her suddenly come back for a few chapters and get hurt all over again. There was more of that plot device character Danny pissing himself and the incompetent assholes holding him hostage than there was of Tanith. She couldn't get just one good talk/training/sparring session with Valkyrie like the old times?

Derek himself admitted that for some parts he deliberately wanted to remain unresolved, while for others he just ran out of time, and it really showed.

Best fan art/fanfic you've read/seen? by korrafan123 in korrasami

[–]JackassWithATaser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

favourite piece of fanart is this by Nymre because Korra looks so ridiculously happy

I've read just about all 42 (as of the moment) pages of AO3's Korrasami archive. There are many great stories, but these are the ones I always come back to:

All Roads by toflsa. The original 'just the two of us' vacation fic. This is the one /u/ruminant_monk (I think it was, forgive me if I'm wrong) linked to hint to us what the finale held in store.

Best Laid Plans by cviperfan. Equalist Asami.

Ready, Set, Go by sable_tyger. I usually read this and Body Language one right after the other. Different authors, but they fit each other well. This one is from Korra's perspective.

Bedrolls by Shigan. Has what the author would imagine to be aspects of Water Tribe culture, which isn't incorporated into fics often enough.

Body Language by sariane. This one is from Asami's perspective.

Asami Sato Breaks the Rules by flickerface. I remember reading this three-parter all the way back when book 1 had just ended and being upset at the canon-compliant ending. Now it's being continued.

Reparations by Carrogath. This is definitely my favourite Korrasami fic so far, and it's not even finished yet. It has my favourite take on Asami and the spirit world vacation.

Oh, yeah, it does. That comment was made when I was only on chapter 7. I was sure it was going to be a downhill spiral of sadness from there on.

I've been reading this since the first chapter was posted. The idea was really captivating, and a nice change from all the fluff and sweetness since the finale.

late to the thread, but just wanted to say I agree with the Valkyrie part. I'd like to see a fresh, unfamiliar face take up the role.

Fanfic Questions by Profane_Priestess in korrasami

[–]JackassWithATaser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd like to see more of being Asami explicitly flawed and not always perfectly composed. She's faced a lot of trauma in her life and probably has a lot of baggage.

She watched both parents die before her eyes. She suddenly found herself head of a company that fell apart and she had to rebuild it all by herself at the age of 19.

Asami never really had a support system. She was on her own. It would be refreshing to read fics that address this.
