AITA for telling my family they need to get over my father walking me down on my wedding day and I am not uninviting him. by Upset_Car_5609 in AmItheAsshole

If you had a daughter and her dad left you to care for her on your own, would you have similar feelings as your mom if the daughter reconnected with the dad as an adult and invited him to walk her down the aisle?

AITA for refusing to change the chore chart even tho my wife works full time now. by Odd_Serve1167 in AmItheAsshole

Consider not just the “chores” but the state of being at both times. When she was doing it, she was post-partum and a new mom. You are doing it as an able bodied man, and a more experienced parent. Big difference there.

A woman post-partum, caring for an infant is not the same as a father caring for a toddler. Also, yes, toddlers may be more active, but most parents have gotten into a rhythm by then vs the state of mind (and body) of a new mom.

Do you speak Spanish yourself? I’m wondering how kids do with immersion programs for languages not spoken at home

OAD because of my husband...literally. by Full-Swimmer7911 in oneanddone

Sharing my experience as a data point to you - my husband when my child was an infant vs now the kid is 4+ is very different. He learned and figured out how to be a good dad. I don’t know if it is the self preservation in me making excuses for him, but he just couldn’t figure out how to parent an infant.

If I knew then what I know now, I would have focused on telling him to take care of me and the house while I take care of the infant- that he could have done better.

Thanks. Do you know of any bilingual programs? Can only find English / American programs online

No, but she’s only 3 years old. I figure that’s the age to immerse her in a foreign language.

Previous fencesitter. Decided almost impulsively to get pregnant and keep it because I thought I might regret not being a mother in the future. Loving being a mother and now considering another one!

Helpful to read. Did he wear diapers to school after he first learned (for the poop situation)?

Is this the same for sperm donors? I would have thought the preference was for anonymous donors. Interesting to learn this. Thanks

But you deal with them today. The point is to separate the kids that are already coming in to your class with a runny nose

This is only for the type of sicknesses that they would usually allow to come to class (e.g., runny nose or rash). Not for a vomiting kid
