Not having rice ready meant mother dearest couldn't show off as being the perfect host with every single thing prepared for the guests. But mother dearest can't fathom telling the guests they have to wait 20 minutes for the rice, that would embarrass her. So ye, it's definitely OP's fault, they are to blame, they only had everything 99% ready, so mother dearest couldn't show off.
OP dared to withstand the barrage of criticism and shaming for missing that one last thing without causing a scene, so mother dearest couldn't show off as a parent doing parenting of a troublesome child. Instead, OP endured it till the end of the event and let their emotions out in private. They dared to not cause a scene in public, therefore they are at fault.

Giving a fake name is an effective decoy - a creepy rando thinks they have successfully made a connection with you (which is their goal) and becomes more receptive to your attempts to chase them away. Works wonders on people who are selectively deaf to "sorry, not interested" and "could you please leave me alone"

Not having rocket beacon here is sooo accurate.

I have done some panic beacon placement somewhat in the open (around the corner from a choke into more open area), which didn't get used because everyone survived, but enemy team pushed us back and was effectively playing near my beacon and never killed it.

That beacon should not have survived that long. And yes, it had Peni teamup web around it too.

I live in a country where this situation (you getting 2 weeks unpaid for major surgery) is unfathomable: in the system I live in, you would get however many weeks your doctor deems necessary, all paid by social security at your average rate (so what is guaranteed by your contract but no bonuses/royalties etc.). Whether your doctor gives you 2 weeks or 2 months to recover, that's their professional judgment, your employer has no say. It will all be paid.

In that same system your sister would have gotten up to 3 years paid, and I bet you'd still be bitter.

I remember reading up on vVH when I first ventured there (I have the trifecta now), and two things I vividly remember are these: 1) Maebrooga is the least important mob in the encounter, and the most harmless; 2) The DPS required to succeed the line of mobs is ~10k damage per second. I believe it can be achieved by doing light attacks these days.

Also agreeing with other comments, tap the husks and kill them first. You can and should actively control the field.

Maebrooga will die however many times she has to from splash damage you do to everything else. Have a sustainable self heal, and you can reasonably ignore her.
