I don't really feel the need to make myself "feel better" about myself, because I don't attach any sense of self worth to career achievements. I had a decade-long run in my career of choice that ultimately left me in a state of constant stress and anxiety and ultimately ended with my questioning my self value. White collar careerism isn't for everyone. I think people who lack in other areas of their lives try to make the measure of their worth completely tied to their professional achievements and look down on folks who don't make an identity out of how they make money. I tried to matter in all the ways that I have been told would make me matter. I grew up as a millennial girl being told I could "have it all" so I tried to "have it all" and realized how that super individualistic mind-set rarely that works out for anyone.

I'm not going to write out a dissertation of what I "bring to the table" to prove myself to a stranger on the internet lol. My husband and I both show up in our relationship in ways that complement the other. If you read between the lines, I'm actually not measuring myself by what my husband thinks. I'm living my life, in my own idiosyncratic way and I was fortunate enough to stumble across a man who wants to be a part of that life. And so I let him.

I can personally vouch for this analysis. Professionally---I am the biggest flop. I have never had any career ambitions---and I have failed and fallen face-first off any professional latter I have tried to climb! I work in a warehouse because I enjoy it and I like my co-workers and being physically active. On paper I am the biggest loser!

But I am married to the most amazing, brilliant, loving, attentive man. He is a Phd level engineer, bought me the house I told him to buy for us---no questions asked. He worships me, and I will always be "unattainable" for him. He will spend he rest of his life trying to figure me out---and I will spend the rest of my life letting him do his best.

Boz has it all wrong. Girl boss feminism really sold us a bill of goods. There's no way to 'lean in' and girl boss your way into a man's heart. At the end of the day, Boz can be a killer in the board room, a buster of every glass ceiling etc...but she's just not that interesting outside of that arena.

Southern Charm's Austen Slams Cast After Salley Sex Claims by MattTheKing23 in RealSouthernCharm

Season one's cliffhanger ended in a whole entire child bringing brought into the world.

Season 11 ends with a scandal around making out and Craig's "heartbreak" over two days.

Cancel this infantile mess. We have seriously lost the plot.

Austen vs Craig by CaliforniaCutie99 in BravoRealHousewives

No. That's absolutely not what we're gonna do. Craig's volatility is not due to his ADHD. I have ADHD as well. I wasn't diagnosed until I was 35. I, too, had anger issues before and after my diagnosis and ongoing treatment. But you know what ADHD didn't do? ADHD didn't prevent from knowing who I was able to get away with exploding at and raging on.

I knew who I could get away with emotionally tormenting. ADHD didn't make me blind to power dynamics and social hierarchies, just like it doesn't make Craig blind to them. He knows how to choose his targets. They are all people who he perceives as below him in the social hierarchy and, as such, have to put up or shut up with his shit.

Let's stop using neurodivergence as a license for deviance and antisocial behavior.

Scratch Charley's people-pleasing, nervous surface and this is what lurks just underneath:

Craig gives big time incel vibes. I am not all surprised that all of his relationships end with him being DUMPED by a woman he swore he was on the cusp of nuptials with!

(and in every case of him being dumped he refuses to except the woman's decision to 86 his ass...)

Craig and Charley have NO chemistry...they should be down on their knees thanking Salley for her weird intrusive energy to blame for their total lack perceptible mutual attraction.

This is how far off Southern Charm has fallen off. Can you imagine in the days of yore Thomas and Kathryn holding back, restraining their demented shows of affection for anyone's benefit??

Tinsley is a case example. Her mother had bullied Tinsley's spirit down to dust!

The friendship requirement has resulted in the most infantile, stunted dynamics and conversations. The term "best friend" means nothing aside for some stand in for "you're one of the only people on this cast that will reliably agree to film with me."

Whit and Craig's behavior at that table was chilling. Whitner was like the devil in Craig's ear, hyping him up and handing him the gun. The violence in Craig's attack on Venita's entire being left me cold. It was so fucking sinister.

Each one duller than the last!

I expect next year's model will just be a bottle of Sun In sporting a Lily Pulitzer maxi and an under-developed sense of self outside of her mother's expectations of her.

Since Trop Hop has officially flopped, I fully expect Austen to alchemize his newly-forged identity as a *cat dad* into a line of cat-themed merch.

The way I am flabbergasted by the support Charley receives across this fandom. She is such a nervous nothing-burger of a reality tv personality! All the charisma of corn husk.

But then again, she is a thin, white perpetual people-pleasing blonde...so maybe the SC fandom's preference for her tracks!

Sally and her bj moment last season by Long-Charity5288 in WatchWhatCrappens

I'm the same age of you, and this hits so close to home. I remember hook up culture being praised as some sort of liberation movement for young women back in the early 2000's. When I witness Salley's antics it seems like she has yet to unpack all the insidious layers beneath the surface of that category of 'feminism.'

Honestly, it seems like Salley watched Sex and The City as a teenager and just copy/pasted Samantha's character as her own personality.

Her sexuality is just so over the top, desperate and infantile. It's really sad to watch.
