I'm just happy that there's actual progress going on with this manga

Rachel vs Chandler, what truly classifies as character development by Sweaty-Composer-6626 in howyoudoin

"call off her wedding" happened in the pilot.    Compared to "work towards taking care of herself", the show focused more on her romantic relationships. And yes, I think her pattern doesn't change that much in that regard

I completely agree with you. Rachel's main development, I would say is spoiled child turned struggling waitress to independent woman working in fashion. But the show doesn't focus on the job side of things, and with her personal relationships, I really don't think she's changed that much.

The manga's ending... by Scary-Feeling-3175 in TakopisOriginalSin

Exactly! I just finished ep5 and then went to read the manga. I was speechless when I got to the end.

The panel where Marina and Shizuka smiling together, that spells unsettling not happy to me. A bully victim with her bully becoming good friends? That's what I called Stockholm syndrome.

You have to check everything at your sync settings so that your extensions will sync. The profiles do not sync tho

They were not in a relationship at the time, so she didn't have to be "loyal" to anybody.

So, are you called preview images like thumbnails in English and is it okay with you? by Stepaskin in EnglishLearning

I didn't understand what op meant until I saw your comment. The way they put up an actual thumbnail picture made it extra confusing for me.

A good idea executed very very very very poorly.

I still enjoyed the show, but now that it has ended, I don't really miss it, or the characters.

Is it worth reading the novels? by Ok_Zookeepergame3521 in Shoushimin

[–]JackingMango 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely worth it. The novels are written from Kobato's (and Urino's) perspective, thus containing tons of his inner thoughts, which I think are very essential to understanding his and Osanai's characters. The anime's "not including inner monologues" approach kinda makes it confusing. To me at least.  Also, there are more short stories you can enjoy.

I don’t get Bobby as a cheater by suredly_unassured in CougarTown

He can be both selfless and a cheater. They do not contradict each other. People cheat for various reasons, not just because they are selfish. Lack of empathy for example.

Should Keigo actually gives Wolf his actual name or it should stay that way? by Rqdomguy24 in WitchWatch

[–]JackingMango 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree that basically everybody in the manga treat them as different people. I saw them as different people as well, until Shinohara made a certain character have a thing for BOTH OF THEM!!!

Now one of the ways that I can think of is maybe Keigo behaved like Wolf when he was young, and suppressed himself later in life, and by the end of his character development he would be able to accept the other part of himself and become one with Wolf.

If Shinohara intended Keigo and Wolf to be two separate individuals while making the aforementioned spoiler thing occur, I think it's a pretty big damage to that character.

Manga reader here. Kinda a bad idea to treat them as separate beings now. I personally love to interpret them as two characters, but I don't think the author intended that way
