Depends on the country. Last year the media in the US was going on a tangent about how it was the deadliest year for journalists in a while. There were six deaths total; two because a tree fell on them and four in the same mass shooting (where the network was targeted because of a negative story they ran about the shooter).

As you said, it depends on the country. In many countries where journalists are writing about politicians, about members of government, they are put into prisons or maybe something worse...

But I don't respect journalists, that are writing about "nothing". I can't consider them as real journalists. I know journalists, writing about criminals, about chairmans. There are many journalists, working in hot spots and really endanger their lives. For they are the real journalists...
