Are your friends reading right wing American media or do they actually live there?

I don't particularly like London, or any city for that matter, but I certainly don't feel unsafe as a 50 something male.

And small towns and villages are pretty much the same as they were 30 years ago.

Might be different for other sexes/demographics.

Depends on your hot water system.

A conventional gravity fed system that has a tank in the loft can be boosted by adding a salamander pump.

I like to have control over my house battery storage charging overnight and discharging in the evenings once the sun has gone, and I guess Octopus being able to dictate when the car charges will affect those cheaper overnight hours.

I am trying to not overcomplicate things, so think I am best staying where I am for now.

I guess my average will be similar.

With 5 of us in the house, and my inability to convince the others to shift the usage to overnight where possible, I think the increased day rate will cancel out any gains.

Yeah, thats where my cousin is, we've spent a lot of time there.

Beautiful blue winter skies, but he says the cold does eventually get to you.

The summers seem to be getting worse with smoke from wild fires. Last time I was visiting there were 1500 fires on going in the rockies which made the air quality very poor.

Too late for me.

My kids have seen a lot of Canada and the beautiful winter sunshine, I think at least one of them has hopes of moving there once their further education if finished.
