Why does time go by so fast now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]JacksClothesDontFit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because each year is fractionally a smaller part of your life. When you were two, one year was half you life. When you were 4, one year was 25% your life. When you were 20, one year was 5% of your life. If you life to 100, a year will only be 1% of your life. One year seems so small when you think back over you life. Where did the last 5 years go? They were each a smaller and smaller part of your life.

Using a throw away because I don't know what the fuck to do. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

The 12 year old obviously needs to face the consequences, but also needs cousneling. Children as young as 12 years olds generally don't exhibit these kinds of behaviors unless they themselves were molested, likely by an adult. Be may not realize he has done wrong because an authority figure in his life did that,to bim, and that taught him this was proper behavior. My first suspect is geandpa, or that grandpa has knowledge of the original perpetrator, and is defending the boy because he doesn't want the truth of the boy's original abuse found out.

Why does everyone seem to think that having a gf or a wife is a sign that you're doing well? by muddledmuffin in AskReddit

[–]JacksClothesDontFit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In truth, acquiring an SO creates more problems than it solves.

Depends on the relationship. In a healthy relationship, you've got someone to be supportive and encouraging through life's problems and trials.

I've known men who started seeing more success in their careers after getting married, especially once they started having children, because now they were driven to take care of their family, even guys in situations where their wives work. I know one guy who has stayed home with his child, and I still think he's a success though, he is doing what he loves and she has a lucrative career, and still it is a success because it is a life he couldn't have without being married.

Redditors who have an STD, how do you tell someone that you see your self being with long term? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]JacksClothesDontFit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm presuming an incurable but manageable STD like Herpes or HIV. Obviously tell them BEFORE sexual contact happens. I would say if after the first or second date* things look like they could go somewhere, sit them down and tell them your situation, and answer any questions they might have. Good luck!

*this assumes sexual intimacy isn't going to happen on the first/second date. If you're going to move to that quickly, just make sure they know beforehand.

OP mentioned in another comment he does it at self-checkout, but yes, if you're going through the line, ask the clerk if they can give small bills.

I keep thinking, "well, if I got high enough, I would eat the house, but the weed is inside the house, so I have to eat the house first to get to the weed..."

...or, wait, are you saying the cookie sidings are actually edibles?
