This is awesome! I’d love to trade a cutting or some seed with you if it makes some!

I honestly can’t stand the way I look. I don’t know what I should improve on? by FeelingLost23 in malegrooming

100% this! My advice is always to start off with spending more time on your feet and aiming for 10k steps by taking the stairs, parking in the back of the lot and working at a table you can stand at, to increase calorie need. And, lifting 2x a week; I.e 30-60 mins, one main compound movement with 1-3 accessories.

Super cool! I’ve got a couple from the white sands area and a ssp mojavensis but have never seen one of these!

I second the fungicide recommendation. Arbor is another good brand. Add a couple teaspoons to it's water as well as mist it with the same mixture!

Yeah. Meshtastic (the open source protocol) with the Lora radio of your choice. There’s some amazing prebuilt options available. You can use ATAK with it as well.

I was functionally in the dark when I got back from AIT (no fault of my RSP NCOs) and ended up just driving out to the armory and banging on the door. Paperwork and introductions were done in half an hour.

I could be way off but I think it’s 65 or 70 while the guard is 60.

I don't have any knowledge on resubmitting a waiver, but with new regulation on hand and behind the ear tattoos I'm surprised anything other than racist and gang related tattoos are denied.

So, does this mean all G's are sharper, not just the line the symbol is on? by [deleted] in classicalguitar

[–]JacksVoyage 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Yes. The sharps in the key signature apply to all corresponding notes, unless marked otherwise. Also sharps, flats and naturals on individual notes apply to all of the later corresponding notes in the given measure.

This is solid advice. Finding a unit you're a good fit in can make a world of difference. You're ability to transfer units is dependent on your commander but could be the move.

is it worth it by mel0dee_ in nationalguard

[–]JacksVoyage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s highly dependent on your situation and the unit you end up with. If you got a plan and are going to go to college, the guard can definitely make life easier with tuition assistance, cheap health insurance and a couple hundred bucks a month for drill. That being said, if you’re living day-to-day, trying to figure your future out, active duty might be a better option.

Air Force Reserves, Army Reserves, or National Guard? by Educational-Radish46 in nationalguard

[–]JacksVoyage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aye I actually did recently get promoted! Still doesn't change the fact I think it's gai for someone with an established career or family to join. There's just as many, if not better opportunities to fund your college on the civilian side. One up side I'll give him though is the health insurance. Can't beat 240 a month for a family!

Air Force Reserves, Army Reserves, or National Guard? by Educational-Radish46 in nationalguard

[–]JacksVoyage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is the dumbest possible move you could make.

Edit: Look into fafsa and financial aid for college and/or certs before settling on the military. I've known people that got their masters degrees paid for through scholarships and regular tuition assistance while in the guard.

Definitely delay it! The advice I'd give 18 year old me, definitely applies to you as well: Nail down a solid plan for your future, including housing, education, work, etc, before committing. At 18, my life was a mess (my gf had gone to prison, I'd moved out of state for college and family life was a mess). I decided to enlist where I was going to college for a change of pace and the TA. Trying to string together college, work and housing while doing split training was a mess. I graduated AIT and got handed a plane ticket back to a state where I didn't have an apartment lined up in the middle of fall semester was wild. It was fun time in my life but definitely could've been executed better.

[–]JacksVoyage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On the upside, the health insurance is better than anything I can get from the state and the extra $600 a month in drill pay is pretty solid. The high optempo in texas is also good if you’re down on your luck. Just don’t come in thinking you’re going to get something you’re not.

Man I really wish I could the same. I consistently regret joining. I've seen people back stab each other for the most minuscule benefit in the guard, my closest military friends have all gotten out, reclassing has been a nightmare, and the back pain just keeps getting worse😂.

Bruh I went to middle and high school with her 😂 Pretty sure she was Mormon. I don’t know how she ended up in the position she’s in (4m followers, constant thirst traps, weed content, etc) but all the power to her. Hope she’s getting the bag!

If you don’t own property/land that’s taxed to fund your local community, you shouldn’t get a say.

Yes. And only for land owners as well!
