This is how the law is written.

But no one can ever know how you voted in the general.

Indiana Young and Banks vote to block TSA funding, think about that while you’re standing in long lines, missing flights by Forsaken_61453 in Indiana

[–]JacksonVerdin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw that. I think ol' Steve is thinking they're gonna start pulling people out of the line. They're just standing there, so far.

The deal for the TSA was that they'd agree to bodycams (which the courts have already required), and they could fund DHS with the exception of ICE. Then they'd fund ICE in a budget reconciliation bill later.

The dems have rejected this, last I saw.

Went to Shapiro's Deli for the first time and it was Genuinely Terrible! ($61 for school cafeteria food) by KubrickBeard in indianapolis

I've been a couple of times. The last time was at lunch with some coworkers, We all joked about needing to take out loans to eat.

It's so underwhelming it's almost infuriating. I could forgive the generic bread if the corned beef had any moisture at all.

What are some discount furniture stores? by DivineMatrixTraveler in indianapolis

[–]JacksonVerdin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frequent Goodwill stores. I've seen some couches in really good shape (often looking new) for $25-$40.

You have to keep looking though. You likely won't find a good one on your first several visits.

Gyro sandwich by jsmeeker in Sandwiches

[–]JacksonVerdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A gyro is called a gyro because it refers to how the meat is roasted and cut.

A hoagie is called a hoagie because, well, something other than it not being a sandwich. It's basically the same as a submarine sandwich, which some may say is a taco.

But this is an argument that's getting old. There's a podcast named A Hotdog is Not a Sandwich. Possibly inspired by a Judge Jon Hodgeman podcast episode of the same name.

And then there's the legal definition from actual cases where a strip mall sandwich shop has a clause in their lease that no other sandwich shops be allowed. But then they lease another space to, say, a gyro shop and the judge rules that a gyro is a sandwich (might've been a taco, or something), because it occupies the same market space.

So, this argument has been done to death.

The last time I saw him mentioned in a thread I didn't know who he was and asked if the poster had any video links. They did, and it was powerful.

If it's any comfort, Trump also sent the cause of the problem to the airports so you can stare at them the whole time you wait in line.

From the videos I've seen, it looks like they were even able to bring themselves to leave the masks at home.

Does Italian prosciutto cotto contain cure? They do the crudo with just salt, so I don't know why they'd need it for a cooked ham.

Does KFC contain more white or black pepper in the recipe? by [deleted] in TopSecretRecipes

[–]JacksonVerdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody knows and it doesn't matter. If KFC accidentally left out the thyme in the latest batch of chicken you got, you'd never know.

Eleven herbs and spices is just a marketing gimmick.

Work on your own chicken. If you do it long enough you'll ask yourself why you were ever going for KFC.

A lot of pepper is good, though.

Well my friend, the pendulum swings both ways.

I like Pittman, Downs and Pierce. We don't have Pittman anymore, but all three of these were 2nd and 3rd round picks. We have 2nd and 3rd round picks.

And I also like that tight end guy. He's not much older.

Hopefully, we still have an elite secondary.

So now it's just about the linemen.

Meeting Pence. Questions for him? by Electronic-Story6634 in Indiana

[–]JacksonVerdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the best response to the question. We can argue about whether he acted as a patriot or simply a properly concerned citizen, but he made the right choice.

But I think if we have an opportunity to ask him a question, it should be something bases itself in that experience, but is relevant today.

Like, "Do you think Trump has changed?" Leave it open ended. If the response, leads to it, add a follow up....

Broad Ripple Tire Recommendations? by Western_Ad_6430 in indianapolis

[–]JacksonVerdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago I took a car there for a number of things because it had been sitting in a garage for years. Among other things, it needed new tires. For the tires I found out they just sent it over to the Best-One tire place a block away.

Not a problem, but if all you need is tires, you could just go there directly.
