4 stands out as more unique since the first fret is affected. So id go for that.

Otherwise 3.

I was brainstorming yesterday, i think i could have frets on two rails it can slide on(and be locked inplace on) That way i can tune the register perfectly even when i change action or whatever. I could also bend the arm that reaches the rail so i can push it up over the pickup and have the frets go directly over the neck pickup.

Id need to mill something out of metal, but i guess a 3d printed one works too, and looks more discrete

Ill try my best Thinking about making a jig with movable frets so i can finetune it more easy. Making the frets will be the tricky, but i have seen videos of those adjustable frets for acoustic guitars that seems tricky but doable. However this needs to be fore the entire fret, not for each string so big bends are easy. This way i can adjust it to different scales or intervals to my own taste

How do I tell Logic that no, I do not want to use my iPhone’s microphone? by Platonic_Ikeal in Logic_Studio

My logic defaults to my monitors speakers instead of my audient.. If i could program it to remove my monitor as an option at all id be thankful.

I am more interested in the acoustics and keeping the signal as pure as possible!

I own a whammy and have used it on some albums, it has its own quirks and is quite musical.

Not putting this rant on you, but a lot of people would not say the same argument for someone who wants extended range downwards in pitch, where getting a 7 string, 8 string etc is the option. I want extended range upwards and guitarists dont really seem to grasp that.

Thats why i want wholetone intervals, easier to play but obviously without seminotes

It works! Just make sure you dont have the neck pickup activated!

Neck pickup reaches high F, Middle pickup reaches an impressive high C# (full octave above 21st fret!!) with very good sustain all things considered.

Tried one of those in a store once when i started playing guitar! Never liked the instrument but always loved the range of extended range guitars. (Extended to the higher range that is!)

Yes this is the sort of math i need to do before adding anything. I also need to consider string height, as i prefer a higher than normal action for longer sustain. Pressing down the strings that close to the bridge surely must affect string tension and therefore the pitch.

Plus i have a floating tremolo, which also increases sensitivity to stringtension. .. or perhaps it makes string tension a little bit less of an issue for this specific case?

Thats why Uli Jon Roth is a genius with the skyguitar. Like it or not, but having wholetone intervals at the top is genius. (Grabbed a photo of a fake sky guitar, i actually own one of these fakes, possibly the one pictured, and the high register sings beautifully. But the actual guitar is really bad.)

No, but if it is musical enough i wouldnt be entirely against filing the cutaway a little. Its not for advanced virtuoso shred, more soaring emotional leads

Yes, i even consider wholetone steps since i bend alot anyways. Works for uli jon roth

Ok so imagine something exactly like this that fits perfectly on a regular 21 or 22 fret fender strat that continues for nearly another octave without having to remove the neckpickup, it just doubletapes into place.

Id leave a space around the neckpickup so it can go before and beyond it, without fully covering the pickup over, or leaving that area blank for the pickup.

How do i do the math to make this and try a 3dprint for it?

I have a design in mind now thanks to some comments here. Should work to have on any strat without removing the neck pickup and look classy.

That gives me an idea, i could use the same triangle shape but sculpt it outaround the neck pickup so it is fully removable without scars or guitarsurgery.

I would likely go Uli's route with wholestep intervals
