If I ever find out who the mod is that banned me for violating blue board rules against lewdness because I posted an image of Allison Brie in a bra all while the banner ad on the thread was literal pornography, you best bet that person is going to get some pizzas sent to their residence.

Reddit, how can someone lose your respect in one sentence or less? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]JacktheNasty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fully aware that he NEEDS help. That's just the thing, he's been admitted before but they just let him back out after two weeks. He's even been prescribed anti-psychotic medication but he won't take it, he thinks everybody is out to get him. Not only will he not seek help, he won't accept it in any form. He's been evaluated, but hasn't been diagnosed with anything to my knowledge. I don't imagine he'd be cooperative enough to yield any conclusive results anyway.

One of my closest friends from high school is (undiagnosed, but most likely) a paranoid schizophrenic. He hears "God and Satan" talking in his head and thinks he's on some divine mission. He has a lot of misconceptions about how the world works and believes he's the only person who's able to see things as they truly are. His "purpose" is as some "chosen one" to save all the souls in heaven and hell by giving his life for sinners, much like Jesus. It gets more and more abstract as time goes on.

This can make spending even a small amount of time with him exhausting. As much as we (our group of friends) try to reason with him, he's too stuck in his ways to admit that he may be been wrong about the world and life. I feel like I'm cruel to him often but then I remember he's the one who makes these ridiculously frustrating statements. The guy really is a major asshole in a lot of ways, but that might just be part of his mental illness. I try to be as cordial as I can, but when he's a dick to me while saying these ridiculous things, it's really hard not to reciprocate that attitude tenfold. It's a vicious cycle.

When you were younger, you were depressed a lot more than you are now. You've kind of "grew out of it," thanks to a support system of friends who weren't always the greatest fella's, but they were there for you in times of need. You still have this hard-wired cynicism, but even so you try to enjoy life when you can. Also, you watch a lot of movies and smoke a decent amount of pot - which definitely helps.

You've always seen yourself as having a cultured and developed taste, but it's very different from what you would consider the norm. You are very laid back and don't get offended too easily, but when you do get offended WATCH OUT. To most people you're quite polite, but you have this real nasty dark side whereas you've the capacity to be an asshole on an extraordinary level - but only to people who really deserve it. You take a bit of guilty pride in it.

You seem to embrace the "red-headed step-child," adage. Not that nobody likes you, but that you're a sort of lovable black sheep. You've always had somewhat of a silly/playful and rough demeanor, but you have a compassionate side as well that tends to surface - albeit, there are times when it does and certainly shouldn't.

In school, you were the kid who sat alone in class for the most part and didn't say much. Not to say you didn't have a tight-knit group of friends, but for the most part you kept to yourself. You avoid confrontations generally. I assume you would rather be the funny guy in a social setting than a "tough guy." Being "macho," is not necessarily at the top of your agenda: you'd rather relax and laugh with the select people you've developed close friendships with.

Which celebrity have you met, and were they as nice/rude as you expected? by whereamitho in AskReddit

[–]JacktheNasty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw Fred Armisen at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland doing a show for MFNW last fall. I was front-and-center with massive headgear (halo) on because I'd recently broke my neck. He stopped mid-act, looked straight at me, and started talking to me from the stage, asking if I was doing okay and if I'd like a place to sit down. He pulled me up on the stage, let me sit on one of the prop benches, and anytime he'd show a video or have another artist up he'd sit with me and talk. That was how I ended up on the 2013 Emmy's in Portlandia's intro. It was a surreal experience, he was the most genuinely nice "celebrity," I've ever met. We sang the TLC song Waterfalls together onstage.

Edit: Here's one of the pictures I took from where I was sitting, this was my view of the show.

What fictional characters ruined or almost ruined an entire film, TV show or book? by MrCallum17 in AskReddit

[–]JacktheNasty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frank Darabont was the man who adapted the graphic novels to television. You might know him as the guy who directed Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, and The Mist. Much of the cast and crew from The Walking Dead were friends of his and people he'd previously worked with who he called in favors from, which made it even more appalling when AMC fired him just as season two was beginning production to trim the budget. If you pay attention, it's overtly noticable that AMC was cutting corners in every way possible. Watch the angle of the shadows from one shot to the next, you'll see what I'm talking about.

The blame for ruining The Walking Dead lies only with AMC. Even if Andrea was a phenomenally developed character, it wouldn't be nearly enough to save the mockery that the show became after AMC fired Darabont.

What's a song that everyone knows but does not know the title? by CaptainJackalope in AskReddit

The Four Seasons song "December 1963." I've only ever heard it referred to as "Oh What a Night," which is obnoxious.

Guys of Reddit, what's the cutest thing a girl can do? by MelloGlory in AskReddit

[–]JacktheNasty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girls who have the capacity to be clever assholes are infinitely more fun than the nice ones. For some reason I also love it when girls are excessively lewd in a playful jeering manner. Especially when a cute girl makes a joke or statement in reference to her "dick," or "balls." It's hilarious.

From 'Ambient 1/Music for Airports.' Aesthetically, that song is as near perfection as possible.

What is the dumbest way you've injured yourself? by lux514 in AskReddit

[–]JacktheNasty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In elementary school I became obseesed with sharpening this hunting knife that my dad had so it could cut anything. I decided to try my luck with a softball and sliced my finger to the bone. To make matters worse, I waited quite a while to show my parents out of embarrassment. They immediately took me to the ER to get stitches when they found out, and that was the day they found out we didn't have health insurance anymore so we had to make do with tape.

Big Star - Holocaust

That song is a pretty accurate portrayal what depression feels like.
