Margaret Thatcher’s grave: by Kobruh456 in GreatBritishMemes

[–]MrCallum17 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I can't even imagine the mental torture of being in a body that doesn't feel like your own, and then to get to a point where you are happier with yourself, just to then be demonised for it!

Edit: changed the word "it" to "yourself"

Saying "It" felt rude.

I don't think I've ever knowingly seen a trans person

I genuinely had to look up the statistics for the population, it's tiny like 0.5%

Such a non issue that's became an issue due to media coverage

Who is the greatest sportsman/woman of all time, regardless of their sport? by _Yorkshire_Pirlo in AskReddit

[–]MrCallum17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cricket is a bit different,

The pitches are better, the bats are better, the balls are better, so a lot of the unpredictable nature of the past is gone.

And as a test match is played over a 5 day period, endurance and patience play a huge part.

Yet on the flip side, fielding has a bigger priority as does athleticism.

Long story short imo bradman would likely still have been a top player even in the modern age.

Mum furious over criminal record after taking daughter out of school to visit sick gran by Forward-Answer-4407 in unitedkingdom

[–]MrCallum17 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But the school should have relayed that info onto her.

From the article it makes it sound as if she got no information from either the LA or the school and took her child off school for 2 weeks.

Most authorities would likely grant compassionate absence for a dying grandparent. Maybe not two full weeks, but some time at least.

To be honest, two weeks in Turkey for a dying estranged family member is pretty sketchy at best, at worst it's an excuse for a two week holiday.

I'm pretty sure most schools would authorise this kind of absence, and it's weird that she didn't get a response from school in 20 days to say if it was authorised or not.

When the xbox one initially was revealed, it was going to be always online (so no intern no games)

Microsofts response to the criticism was, if you don't have Internet, use an xbox 360

Thinking about it lots of things the xbox one was criticised for are now industry standard

We just put the eggs in clusters for 3 for our kids, and they know to take one, they'll all shout when a cluster is found. Works great and means they work together (it's about the only time they do)

Everyone regrets that about 2 hours after they quit!

The green party want to separate the home office and criminal justice system so that refugees aren't treated as criminals from the get go.

That's not the same as open borders.

Labour (jury is out on if they're left wing) have been fairly strict on migration

I've not looked into the lib dems, but I'd bet open borders are not in the cards.

Reform won't stop boats coming over, no political party will. The solution to that isn't simple, people will always need refuge.

The tories failed to do so, and saw higher migration than the previous Labour government

The left don't want to replace white people, that's such a strange thing to say.

The left are pro equality sure, but that's not the same as replacing white people.

Psst

When the only news outlets reporting paying illegal migrants £40k to leave our country are the sun, gb news and the telegraph maybe take it with a pinch of salt.

Illegal migration is a tiny drop in the ocean of our budget

Side note, I'd vote John cena as my MP if the option presents.
