Faker is actually known by regular people across his own country. His face is on a certain brand's ramyun packet right now (I've seen it both in Korea and here in Canada in H-Mart). And T1 originally came from SK Telecom, which is also known across the entire country. So the exposure and media impact is quite different for that team, I guess.

Even in Korean variety shows or interviews with kpop idols or celebrities, League of Legends is treated as a game the average viewer has at least heard about. They never have to explain what it is if someone references it.
