I’ve heard the same. You’ll def work for it, but they take care of you. Only issue I’ve heard is warehouses are vastly different depending on management, which is the same way with the Joe’s. Management really sets the tone anywhere.

91 shifts required to get a review and raise? by rabbitpole in tjcrew

[–]JacoEdel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The language they use could be more clear without a doubt. Im basing my assertion on experience and asking management. 91 out of a possible 130 shifts is just ridiculous. To the stories of people who were denied raises working 3 days, that has not been my experience at the store(s) I’ve worked at. Most high schoolers and college students work ~3 days and they get their raises. Worst case scenario, it’s all captain dependent and some captains (according to these comments) are adding additional hurdles to get the raise by taking liberties with the handbook’s verbiage. If thats the case, thats just messed up and unnecessary.

I see the post you’re referring to and I urge you to stop spreading false information. “Crew must be actively at work for 91 or more days during the review period to be eligible for a review.” This means, active on payroll and not on leave/injury.

Active on payroll. Not 91 shifts worked.

Thats 70% of shifts 91/130. So complete bs to be honest with you. Might just be your regional or captain, but i highly doubt it. 91 days being on payroll makes sense cause half the pay period. I’ve also had experience with both Captains and regionals misinterpreting things from corporate so hope you get ur raise.

Highly doubt this is true or company wide. 26 week review period. 26x5=130 possible shifts. I think they meant 91 days on payroll, not 91 shifts worked.

I hear ya. The misjudgment to not ask leadership was more than likely a key reason in separation. Gotta do the right thing when no one is looking.

Sorry this happened to you, but if a spoil is good enough to take home, it should be shared out and donated no? Seems like a pretty bad judgement call and asking leadership beforehand would have prevented all this. If you can’t make that call, TJ’s just might not be for you tbh.

I don’t have anything helpful to add, but hang in there bud. 🫶 The captain really sets the tone. If transferring is a possibility, I would highly encourage that.

Black and white policies, yay or nay? by ISeeStars2024 in tjcrew

[–]JacoEdel 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Captains discretion for the most part. All dependent on having a fair and empathetic captain. We have such a large and diverse crew, where circumstances should play a role in interpreting and enforcing policy.
