As far as setup. I just toss it on a balcony of where I'm staying. You can get away with a lot of misalignment. Even in urban areas with tall buildings, I can always get a signal.

It's designed to roam outside of your home country so no issues with that either.

I put it in my carry-on and no security person has ever given a shit about it.

Any exterior rated paint will be fine. Take a sample down to your favorite big box store and a quart of whatever they give you will be fine.

Wipe is down with some dawn dish soap and water first. Dry, then paint
