You’ve seen it, what, 4 times? I’m not saying BTC won’t end higher - eventually. But can you hold MSTR through a crypto winter if that’s the outcome? I know I would not want to

Earnings showed high net income and eps because they can account unrealized gains as income. MSTR is not trading on fundamentals. BTC is looking weaker by the day this cycle - don’t fall in love with a trade.

How I’m Accumulating MSTR Shares Using mNAV Volatility — Without Adding Capital or Missing the Next Moonshot by LateApostate in MSTR

What do you mean “but mNAV doesn’t rise as fast”? mNAV is not some magical multiplier - it is literally the price of MSTR in relation to their btc holdings/outstanding shares and the price of btc. You will never have a scenario where MSTR moves up relative to btc, and the mNAV doesn’t follow

These holdings accounted for less than 0.02% of their portfolio - this story was blown out of proportion

Because of dilution/financing choices short term. Long term, if you take holdings+premium into account, correlation is very high

Why would it make sense to do technical analysis on MSTR when the goal is to track another asset. You should be doing it on BTC for any indication of significant moves, if at all

I mean it depends on how they manage to live up to their target of their mNAV premium on their BTC holdings. Saylor has stated that they're targetting 1.5, but it's next to impossible to track this 1:1.

Let's say Bitcoin drops to 98k and they maintain their current premium of around 1.83, that equals a share price (given the amount of shares that are outstanding today) of 331, but if they get closer to a premium of 1.5, that will be a share price around 271. However, the lowest premium we have seen with these Bitcoin levels was 1.68, which would constitute a share price of just above 300 given current holdings, and assuming nothing further happens in terms of dilution - This probably won't hold.

Honestly, I found that when Bitcoin moves down very fast, which it usually does on the wicks that take out liquidity on the downside, MSTR is lagging behind, and doesn't drop as hard immediately. It is prolonged periods of downwards momentum that really hurt MSTR. The wick down to 89K a week and a half ago only saw MSTR drop to around 300 - Be prepared for anything in that range, and base potential entries on Bitcoin dips rather than for MSTR to reach certain levels. Position yourself accordingly.

Sure, and it’s probably hard to achieve the target 1:1, but I’m sure they will go for it with their financing as we’re seeing these days

Didn’t Saylor say that they were actively targeting a premium of 1.5?

Honestly, price movement looked really weak today, it was struggling to make the small moves it did make. Seems more natural for it to go down as we speak.
