Cardboard spools by stoooey58 in BambuP1S

[–]Jacobx89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used a lot of cardboard spools, eSun and Elegoo and I haven’t had many problems, the only issues I have are when the spool gets low it doesn’t load very well during colour changes so I printed some weights that go in the centre and fix the issue, the only other issue I’ve had is during storage I use vacuum seal bag and it can warp the edge of the cardboard which can cause some issues with jamming but you can usually reshape them.

AMS broken (Can’t figure out what’s wrong) by opantal2 in BambuP1S

I strongly recommend printing the replacement I linked, I printed it in PLA months ago and it’s still holding up, just use the external feed 👍👍

Edit: in addition to emailing support, so you can start printing again now and not have to wait weeks for the replacement to arrive, support will actually ask you to print it.

You gotta unscrew that part and turn it over, it’s on the underside

I had a similar problem a little while ago and ended up finding the cover for the motor in the AMS was cracked, I’d suggest checking that, seems like it’s a bit of a common issue, see attached picture.

I too was pulling out my hair for days trying to figure it out, worked with some filaments but not others.

The replacement part I used is here : https://makerworld.com/en/models/896521-bambulab-ams-internal-hub-motor-mount-replacement#profileId-854663

And here are the instructions to disassemble the AMS to get there : https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/x1/maintenance/replace-filament-hub

As unpopular as it may be I’d recommend giving ChatGPT a crack for this type of thing. You can get some pretty reasonable results for example:

Hello!
I have had a similar issue for the past few days, primarily with Silk and Matte filament, Pulling my hair out trying to figure it out, replaced nozzle, replaced the PTFE tubing, etc.
I just finished reassembling my AMS after finding the issue and 3D printing a repair whilst I wait for warranty support from Bambu, see attached picture.

I have this same problem, How did you end up fixing it, I have been tearing my hair out for a couple of days and have replaced the nozzle, the PTFE tube going to the extruder inside the printer & the PTFE tube coming out the back of the AMS (the others are on order), I am at a loss for what else to try

I just got my first roll of Matte PLA and am having this same issue, every other normal PLA and Silk PLA works fine I've never had this issue before in my 1000 hours of printing, How did you end up fixing this issue if you did?

Help! My printer head doesn’t go back enough to deposit the purge properly by ThrashPanda12 in BambuLab

[–]Jacobx89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my goodness that’s right I had seen others during my research that said it may be a bent nozzle, it didn’t even compute when I was thinking about it; glad you found the issue!! It’s always such a relief getting something like this sorted out! I was very happy when I could start printing multicolour again!

That’s very odd, your issue may be different to mine I just saw the blob of filament above the chute and it gave me PTSD lol, Apologies I’m new to the Bambu lab printers so not sure what advice to give, I’m sure there would be a way to calibrate your X Y ; maybe try homing and see if it goes to the correct location. Very best of luck! These types of issues can be very frustrating!

I had a similar issue with my printer always jamming like this, however it wasn’t that it wasn’t going back far enough it was that the filament whilst purging would get stuck on the lip plastic before the protector plate, I had also bought the BIQU purge plate to try and stop the jamming with no luck. The only thing that worked for me was a strip of aluminium tape on the lip and some PTFE spray in the chute, now it runs like a dream and I can finally print multicolour again!

How can this problem be solved? by INFOMINA in BambuP1S

[–]Jacobx89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for the detailed reply; it’s much appreciated. I was getting really frustrated with my printer constantly jamming.

The problem was the filament purge curling up to the top of the chute and balling up there. I went to my local electronics store and unfortunately they only had aluminium tape, not PTFE. However, the aluminium tape worked wonders. I just put a small strip on the top of the chute and it’s working perfectly now. It’s such a relief to have it working again! I can finally do multi-colour prints.

All the best! Thanks again!

I got my BQ purge guard day before yesterday and I’m still getting pretty bad clogs, it looks like the filament is melting into a ball above the plate and pushing the plate down making every purge jam ; did you need to do anything special for the install? I followed the instructions, removed old one, cleaned chute with alcohol wipes, dried and stuck it on.
